zjzach's wheelin/picture thread

Hey, welcome to my thread. I try to keep it picture heavy. I did wheel a lot stock and have been on the forum for two years before I got my 3.5'' hybrid lift installed. For everyones convenience I made a quick table of contents with the bullet points of what we all like to look at.

wheelin and other off road pictures/ 1,2,3,4,6,10,16,27,32

painted grille,cladding/bumpers, and trimmed front bumper/ 2

5.9 grille goes on/ 4

31's go on stock/ 26

cost breakdown of lift and other stuff/ 29

3.5'' lift installed/ 30, suspension pics 32

PAGE 36, blew the motor in the 4.0, picked up a 5.2 and started over

landscape poser. probably make a motivational poster out of it later

camping essentials: jeep, fire, hammock, tent, cooler with cold beverages (no particular order)

sorry i should have wrote more of an intro first

this'll be where ill post wheelin and other pics of my jeep

its a stock 97 4.0L, with the 242 transfer case, dana 30 front and 35 rear

im running 30x9.5 BFG all terrains, awesome rubbers, every stock zj should have them in my opinion

and yes i did get this idea from moonyjohn, and would like to see more wheelin/ offroad threads like it.

since my zj is stock i technically dont have a build thread yet, but this is me for now

future plans:
kor rock sliders
custom front bumper with 2'' receiver, for multi mount winch
some sort of 3.5'' hybrid (prolly thru kolak) lift
if i decide to go to 4.5'' definately upgrading to long arms out of the gate
33'' KM2s
all our jeep lists never end, ill just stop there

now for some of my best stucks

pulled this move driving through a slough

when water started coming in my doors i stopped to back up.
then sank in the silty bottom and wasnt going anywhere.

til this old ford came along

carpet got a little wet so i pulled it

would not recommend this whole stuck in water, pull carpet, dry, pressure wash, re-dry, re-install carpet process to anyone

now for a few snow stucks

the first comes from a night wheelin trip up the forrest service 70 road onto the 72 road, outside greenwater, wa

buddy up ahead of me went as far as he could, guy behind me has a winch, i get stuck getting out of the way so we could go winch out the guy stuck ahead of me.

and getting me out on the way down.

this one doesnt look so bad from the front, the tj behind me end up winching me out

2nd angle shows how high centered i am

this from up in the manastash on the way to moon rocks and funny rocks in eastern washington

and lastly for now one of me completely burying both axels and being high centered

got chains on all 4 tires and nothing doing

ended up using my hi lift jack and various straps as a cum-a-long method and made it off the snow drift 10 hours later

this also is the best example not to wheel, especially in snow, without other rigs.
in evans creek offroad area, outside wilkensen, wa

Awesome stocker pictures by the way. If only everyone would start off wheeling that way instead of going straight to 33's without learning how to wheel first.

I agree. I have 29's still and love to wheel stock. I think it's quite a challenge, and lots of fun. It's scarier in a way since you could damage something easier and getting stuck is more a possibility. I love the shots up in Washington. I'll move up there one day. I like the color of your Jeep, too.

Where was it you were camping in that one pic?

Yes, it snows in Texas.
