ZJ winch plates.

Does anyone make a winch plate of sort for zj's? Something that would allow you to keep your factory front bumper?? I saw a stealth bumper posted on another topic in this site and i liked the look i am just not able to fab something up like that without a welder. Also how do you secure a winch well enough to the truck to keep it from coming off under the pressure?

Look up the back bone system. Its by far the best. Keeps your stock bumper with minimal trimming. Very stoat, and afordable.

Very nice guys! Thats exactly what i was lookin for! The bow shackle brackets are a huge plus. They are all a bit on the pricey side but like i said i was expecting to have to buy a bow shackle bracket bar too. I would rather have a cheaper one without the shackle brackets because i am not fond of how they look there but it is awesome how it does everything with minimal damage to the stock look of the truck. Thanks yall!

I went ahead and photoshopped the backbone system onto my zj so i could see what it looked like. I would have to relocate my hellas to make it work and it is probably not perfectly to scale. I did relocate them in photoshop but i don't think i moved them quite enough. It would probably wind up being slightly larger than this with the lights slightly more toward the edges of the grill. I like the look and this has been added to my list of things to do when the budget allows it. What do yall think?

Winches tend to take up the full width of the grille. Fyi.

Judging by the pic right from the site-

and planning to run one that is even slightly smaller than the superwinch in the picture-

Smittybilt XRC-8
that was my estimation. I might be pushing it to keep the hellas on but i hope not...

$325 + S&H is a lot of coin for what it is. The Backbone system that is.

For that kind of money I would just spring for a complete new bumper with a winch mounting plate already on it.

I agree that Detours it's high, but look at the quality. Most bumpers don't mount that well. I think mounts are often overlooked. I like the rlc? welding stuff off E-bay, I have never seen the mounting though. Anyone have details or pics on that?

I wouldnt mention it if you hadent said something but for that kind of money you can honestly buy a weld and steel and make one yourself. then you wined up with a sweet one of a kind winch mount with exactly what you want on it and a welder. Thats how I did it and I do not regret it one bit.

The problem with that is lack of three things-

-Time
-Welder
-Experience

Mostly the first one though.

Other than that i totally agree.

Btw do you have any pics of your winch plate?

From what i can tell they aren't aren't even selling them right now. They sell a whole bumper for $575 but no evidence of the winch plate. Here is their ebay page-
