ZJ driveshaft swap

I'm in the process of parting out my 98 ZJ 4.0L. It has the 242 tcase and ujoint sytle driveshaft. My new ZJ project is a 98 5.9L ZJ. The 9'er used to have a front driveshaft (u-joint style) on it but was stolen from the dealership I got it from . I plan on installing the 242 in the spring time but I want to use the front driveshaft for the winter. Would it be possible for me to take the DS off of the 4.0L and put it on the 5.9L. Any help or suggestions would help. Thanks.

Chances are you will need to change the yoke on the pinion. Otherwise you can get your anwer with one of these:

it should be telescoping right? best bet is to just measure it. my thoughts are that it should work but that's just my guess lol
