Well here we go, welcome to my build thread of my zj thats my daily driver. details:
5.2
249
mostly stock really. I bought it for a whopping $100 from my dad after he bought a suburban to replace it. Now the bad when i bought it: front doors are gonzo rusted all the way through on the bottoms, the vc is bad(its a 249 what else is new?), the hatch is in bad shape rotted through and surface rust, bug deflector cracked in the middle. Now the good: maintained very well, had a jvc cd deck, infinity gold system, upcountry rear springs with airbags in them, interior was pretty clean. all in all an amazing first car.

So far what I've done to it, with the help of my dad of course who is teaching me how to do everything as we go on it.
New AVS Bugflector II
New Ignition Switch
Remanned Power Steering Pump
New to me rear hatch in great shape
new to me passenger front door also in great shape
Straight Pipe insted of cat since old on rotted off it
New Hooker Super Turbo Muffler
New 2.25" tailpipe
Custom Fabbed CAI
New Map Sensor
Dorman A/C Delete Pulley
New Battery
New brakes all around
New Water Pump
New Baja Lights on the bumper
New Trackbar
New Rancho Steering Stabilizer
New Rear Upper Control Arms
2 New Rancho RS5000's in the back
New American Racing Outlaw II's 15x8 w/ 3.75" backspacing

When i first got it and then how it sits now

finally got around to going to the jy and getting a new airhat (turns out they dont like getting hit in a fit of rage, who knew?) and came away with one for free. also got all the wiring and electrical connectors from the fusebox in another zj with factory fogs. so i can finally get the lights on the bumper lit up. all of this was free. turns out they dont care about wiring stuff and plastics. while i was there i saw an orvis that had just been put there that had the upcountry suspension group that id been looking for for so long. so the next day i went back and grabbed the front springs since i already have the back. they charged me $10 a spring what a steal. put them on and wow what a difference. now i want to go higher with it. i want to get the IRO 2" bb which is not expensive at all. cant wait to get new bigger tires. completely on the fence on those, i want something agressive but i can get bfg at's at a real good price for 31's

finally got around to completely wiring the fogs up and they work better than i thought, they produce more light then i had hoped for. nighttime driving is so much better now. laid down some nice semi gloss black on the undercarriage to clean that up. next project will be the IRO 2" bb. i think thats where the lifting will end, i dont want new springs since it has all upcountry ones which i love having also will be buying a new set of front swaybar endlinks, since the ones on there are rusted beyond belief and the bushings are shot. only 50 bucks for everything i need. now i just need to acquire the money for all of it.

oh ive been through your thread a few times already and i do like what your doing with it, the camo is cool. i saw a wrangler about a week ago that was all woodland digital camo which i thought was cool. probly just a vinyl wrap but cool none the less.

i will tomorrow, i have the day off. it only cost me $40 or so in buying the intake kit off ebay and then some galvanized sheet metal for the shield. eventually painted it with high temp black cuz i wasnt diggin the chrome and silver under the hood.
actually here it is before i painted it

did a little bit of wheeling today with a friend that has a 5.7 silverado on 33's and he got stuck 3 different times while i didnt get stuck once. he said before we hit the trails that i better bring a chain so he can pull me out when i get stuck. im glad he got to eat his words:rofl:

looking good so far! if you want to make it look a little younger you can paint the bumpers and cladding with some spray paint. krylon fusion is what i used and it made my jeep look much younger...most of the people who see it after i painted the bumpers and cladding ask me if i bought a new jeep. lol
