I hope you straightened out the shaft a little better before bolting it together. By the looks of the piece you cut off it was at a decent angle/slope. Then again, I guess it doesn't really need to bottom out completely... either way the splines will hold.

This depresses me. I keep trying to convince myself I can upgrade my rear axles and get a "free" regear to help out by stepping up to the 3.73s in the D44a.

Nope mine is great there, no rattling and never had the button pushed on, but I could see how that might happen. Good spot for self defense too in case I do not have my side arm.

I was a bit disappointed as well, thought it would be more noticeable.

Well just added some rock lights for night crawling, wife got these for me for my birthday, I cut them apart and lengthened them so that there is one behind the axle two along the rock rails and one in front of the front axle. Will post some pics later after it gets dark.

Looks good. I'll agree with you about the 3.73 not feeling any different than 3.55. I thought it would be a little bit noticable, but it really wasn't.
Where did you get the 4 bolts that mate the double cardan joint to the output shaft. They look to be 12 point. I'm looking for a set for my front driveshaft.
Also, any night shots of the rock lights?

bolts cam with the shaft, actually with the front shaft which is not in at the moment, going to call Carolina Driveline and see why they did not send any with the rear shaft, hopefully he will mail me some.
Just got the light son and it is not dark yet will try to get some tonight.
