WJ Build / The Money Pit

Hello All..... I figured I would start a build thread after learning a great deal from watching these threads for the last year.

I started with a 2001 Grand Limited. I will fill in the details in a post or two. Here's where she sits now.

Looks good!

Can you post some pictures of the Corbeau front seats? They have been on my list for a while but haven't made it to them yet. I assume you got the adapter from them. Do they sit up higher than stock?

Here`s a few pics , I kept the factory frame bases, pulled the seat all apart. I managed to keep the ten way power and lumbar support....Only now they are Corbeau`s They are awesome on a long road trip.

Seats looks good. I was planing on doing suspension seats for offroad more so I'm not sure if I could get mine to fit the stock brackets but yours looks clean.

Snorkel came out good too. Do you have stock intake or aftermarket?

Can't wait to see the dual batteries, that is on my short list too.

The Corbeau's brackets fit onto the factory brackets, the big thing was the Lumbar and power adjust, I had to tear into the Corbeaus. The bolsters, bottom and back of the seat are all high density...... they really soak up some of the harsh jolts....... Much better than factory seat.

The VX2000 is wide across the base....the inner bolster on both sides touches the console when you're sitting in them.... But I needed a Wide seat for my big Azz.....

I am waiting for the sheet metal shop to finish my storage box for the tire well. It will be 31 x31 inches and hold the two Optima's as well as air compressors. I will post these up once I get the box back.

Cheers

Good to know about the corbeaus. Will have to take some measurements to make sure the ones I want fit. I'm sure the high density is very comfortable but for offroad, suspension seats are the way to go and offroad is all my WJ sees.

So are you getting rid of the stock battery location? Upgrading the alternator?

ive thought about offraod seats, but i didnt know how to mount them. i like the look of the stock controls on the aftermarket seats.

Keeping stock battery location under the hood, one Optima. Two Optimas in the custom box I am having fabbed for the rear Spare Tire area. I am having the box done to 9 inches deep so I can mount the Batteries on a flat floor, along with the two compressors and an air tank. I also am installing a 400watt Sinewave invertor in the front of the truck, and a 1000 Watt in the Battery box.The alternator is a 200 amp from a Durango... the factory PCM allows it to be a drop in. I hope to build some custom cables to allow me to stick weld with the three batteries if the need ever arose.

I will only be able to raise the tank about 1 1/2 inches .....but I am building an Expedition Vehicle not a Rock Krawler, so the departure angle won't really matter that much to me.
