Cleaned her up.

Before and after headlights.

So clean

I'll need to snap some of the inside tomorrow.

I gotta address that clunking noise, it is most definitely the drivers side front and I can shake the Jeep and hear the popping, so I imagine its the shock issue we discussed.

I'm starting to get nervous. Maybe I'm just being overly sensative, but I feel like the tranny is slipping. I guess time will tell.

Oh, and why are there 5 TRE's and not a single zerk in sight?

because the guy replaced them with the crappy TRE's from autozone. I had the same problem when I got mine. its either that or the guy bought them and forgot to screw in the zirks

OK, a couple other issues I need to address.

Its leaking oil all of the sudden and Im pretty pissed about it. When I test drove it and inspected it real well, it wasnt leaking. I am going to put a high mileage synthetic (PO was using standard Jiffy Lube oil)... Hopefully that will clear up that issue.

It idles a little rough for my liking. He said he got the plugs and wires changed recently... I ran some Sea Foam through the brake booster and put a half can in the gas tank. I need to add a little to the oil and then go get it changed, hope that loosens some junk up. A couple good oil changes with a good oil should clear that up.

Maybe I should clean the throttle body?

Im going to find that clunk tonight, its buggin the piss outta me.

How easy is it to replace the TRE's? I have never done it, but I cant imagine its that hard... all of them need to be replaced, they are all bone dry.

Thanks for all the help and advice!

Changing from dino oil to synthetic has a small chance of actually making leaks worse, as it can clean out sludge buildups that could be pretty much sealing up things all over the engine lol.

Cleaning the throttle body and the IAC (idle air control) on the side of the throttle body would be a benefit!

TRE's are easy unless they are stuck pretty damn good, then it can take a little...hammer finess? Lol. This is a pic off some random car, but it shows the best concept for removing stubborn TRE's. Once you have the nut off, take a nice big hammer and hit your knuckle where the TRE is seated. Hit on all sides you can, what your trying to do here is shock load the knuckle and it will actually pop the TRE free. I use this method all the time, even on balljoints.

You shouldn't have any spark plug wires to be changed Clean the IAC and check the plug gaps.

Im new to the GC game... its leaking right behind the oil drain plug on what looks like the bell housing... I didnt get a good look in the dark last night. I hate when **** leaks... it leaves spot and its angering me that its an 03 with an issue like that.

Ill get a good look at it tonight and let you know, maybe I can pinpoint it and take care of it soon.

I tried to get my "leak" fixed under my 7/70k warranty. They said it was "sweating" oil, not leaking So it wasn't covered. Remind me...4.0 or 4.7? 4.0's just leak - it is what they do and they do it damn well.
Mine never leaks enough to leave drips on the ground though, just enough to coat the bottom of the oil pan with oil.
