Wheel spacers

Hello all. New to the forum and to the JEEP world.

I just bought a Grand Cherokee Altitude 2014. Very happy with the purchase and new to anything JEEP. It's been a pleasure to drive it and with its maximum steel color and black rims looks pretty bad. However, it comes with standards 265/50r20 tires that I would like to replace.

Actually, I am thinking a wider tire set up may look even better for this model. Glancing through past threads I noticed some members replacing tires for 275/55, 285/50 without issues.

I am considering 285/50r20 which will be slighlty taller -about 1"- but somewhat wider.

Then, I learned this look could be achieved with wheel spacers.

If I may... I would like to tap into the collective knowledge of this forum looking for a recommendation...

a) replace for the wider tires 285/50r20
b) simply use wheel spacers with manufacturer provided tires (265/50).
c) do both, get wheel spacers + new wider tires.

Please advise. And if possible, suggest which wheel spacers are best for a Grand Cherokee 2014 if that happens to be the best solution.

Not looking for all terrain tires, touring will just do.
