Fixed my sway bar links/disconnects saturday, then on sunday spent all day attempting to do my motor mounts - what a major pain in the ***. Now I'm going to have to have the threads inside my block re threaded/tapped out so that I can actually install the passenger side mount. FML! Can't wait till its all done though, between that, some worn out bushings, and my sway bar not being connected my jeep hasn't rode well in quite awhile!

Went outside and ripped the damn wind deflectors off. Things were all busted up and I dont smoke, so i dont care about them. Also while searching out a rear speaker problem discovered that the PO left 9 out of 10 screws OUT of the dash plastics. HAHA jeep. Anyway, I bought it two days ago for $700. No dummy lights, I was trying to upload pics, but they are too big. Yesterday, I bought a set of 235/75 BFG's. Ill get pics up soonish.

Camping and wheeling at Boggs Mt. Ca. A little trails, a little rock and a little mud. I should have put on the half doors for the mud. Was out with 10 or so Wranglers, Cherokees and Grands. Was the the only one with the doors off. LOL Almost off.
Question for gcjeeping: How did you shape the rear quarter armor? I had the same idea and wanted to make the same thing for my WJ.
I used a bottle jack, 3" steel pipe, 2 4' steel 2x4s and a 6' drill press. Put the plate across the 2x4s (2x4s on botton at the edge of plate). Pipe down the middle on top. Bottle jack on pipe. Ran the table all the way down to the top if the jack. Jacked the jack and the plate bent. moved the pipe around to get a curve. Didnt take much. Then when you bolt it to the jeep it will tighten up top the jeeps curves.
A harbor fright 10 ton or so press would have made it easier and quicker.
Didnt make it to the JYs today. Went and helped friend with doing his breaks. But turned out to be a good parts day anyway. guy on his block was having a garage sale and had an axle sitting out. Turned out to be a HP D30 froma 2012 JK. He had swapped axles on his for 44/60s and already sold the rear. It has 4.88 gears and drilled out for high steer. He wanted $350 but got to talking with him about my jeep and what I had built and he said he'd $150 if when he got some tube I'd bend him a stinger, slider extensions and roof rack. Sounded like a good deal since I could bend all that in about 2hrs. Also got extended bump stops and a new adjustable TB bracket.
my car alarm ('06 jeep grand cherokee limited) went off today for apparently no reason?? my key fob was in a drawer at work so i did not accidentally hit the panic button... i tested it and it does not activate when you try to open the door or shake the car... what DOES set the alarm off???
Today I decided to disregard everything anyone has ever said that floppy side mirrors are not repairable. I spent a good 2 hours fiddling with my driver's side mirror and determined that, they are not repairable. A hammer to the sagging internal components allowed me to put my plastic cover back onto the bottom of the mirror... so it wasn't a total wasted project.
I'd love to upload the pix since I've never seen them online anywhere else, but the 540kb limit basically prohibits me from uploading any picture taken post-1997.
