Walked out to check on it, checked the fluids and tire pressures, and adjusted one of my new driving lights down a bit. It'll get driven tomorrow, so now I've gotta fight the urge to just take it for a drive (hasn't been started since Saturday).

Pulled the blown engine out of my '99 WJ. Learned those transmission bolts are hard as haities to get access too...one click at a time with my ratchet.

Now have been working on getting the '02 engine out of the donar jeep and I decided I am going to jerk everything out at once. So this afternoon wish me luck in pulling engine, xmission, and xfer all out through engine bay

That's about it.

It's getting loaded up on a trailer, and driving it to Tenn to go to Prentice Cooper.

Got the engine out yesterday with some effort...I used a jack to put under the transmission crossmember and lowered it down, but the problem was I put my lift point (comealong on an A-frame) to centered over the motor and my transmission and xfer were pointed down at a 30 degree angle.

my Brother in law and I managed to wrestle it out of the engine bay with a combination of lifting and pushing the jeep at the same time along with the help of a couple of ratchet straps.

So, just in case you ever wondered if it will all come out...it will especially if you have a engine balancer on your hoist system...without it you have lots of lifting on your part.

in hindsight it may have been easier to pull front axle and drop engine/trans/xfer on the ground and then pull out while it rests on a board or something!

now your thinking!...I could fab a 2x4 box frame with little casters and some plywood on top and it should roll right out from under the rig. I would probably opt for little inflated tires for the coolness factor and you could use it for so much more...like a welder hauler, tool hauler, etc!

I would've pulled the tcase before doing all that. It's not too hard, although awkward to handle, it would probably make a big difference.

sanded down my tow hooks and painted them black, gonna let them dry a little longer then put them on tomorrow.

I also gave it a wash and put some more oil in and topped off the coolant.

Gauges went all crazy and it wouldn't start. I cleaned the battery connections, we'll see if it happens again.

Drove it last night for the first time since Saturday. Fired up like a champ after sitting for 5 days.
