took the ZJ out for a 140 mile round trip to Terre Haute - The ZJ must have an air tight cabin - I could not smell Terre Haute at all as I drove thru it.

Installed and rewired the ABS sensors for my (new to me) D44a. Turned on the key, and the ABS light went off. Did not test drive, yet, but I think ABS is back in business.
Changed the lube in the D44a diff, everything in there looked good. Valvoline 70-140 synthetic w/ limited slip additive. Removed the cladding from my tailgate, and tightened the handle -> latch connecting rod a couple notches. I am trying to get rid of a rattle back there. The connecting rod from the lock solenoid to the latch was also kinda floppy, so that is next thing I am going to tighten up before I take it for a test drive. Need to pick up new snaps, for the cladding for reassembly. Might as well get that cladding nice and tight too.

I pulled the climate control unit out so I could replace some burnt out bulbs. I'd been meaning to do this for a couple weeks now, but then it's been so cold out that I was afraid the plastic might be too brittle to mess with. I worry as I had to kind of pry the lower trim out of the way so I could get that bottom screw out on the CC. I didn't want to have to completely pull the lower trim piece. I managed, but my fingers are raw. LOL
Oh yeah, cut my right thumb on the bulb as I couldn't get it to light. Had to pull the new bulb out of the base and find another base, try again, and eventually it worked. Weirdness. I didn't notice I was bleeding until I had wet stuff spreading everywhere. Actually, it was the red smears that tipped me off. ![]() All for such a simple fix. It's amusing. Our Jeeps want our blooood. |

Taurus fan swap, thermostatically controlled, with high override. High cuts out all low functions to avoid fan damage.
Low is controlled by a 175 degree thermo switch from a 3.0 Taurus, and is also triggered by the A/C clutch. All it took was a 3.8 Fan = 22$ 3.0 thermoswitch =0$ 3 40 amp relays = 15$ 1 30 amp bosch relay = 5$ 1 1.5" barb fitting tapped for 3/8 theromswitch in upper rad hose = 3$ other wiring and toggle switch = 20$ all in all 65$ extra HP, MPG and water pump life = priceless ![]()
