looks brand new. i'll have it on later this week. question for anyone that has it. does it make a difference. like can you feel a HP gain? and does it make your jeep noisier? thanks[/quote]
drive it to the end of the driveway after install and jump on it. that should answer your question. you bet you can feel the hp! i sure did. and yes you will hear a distict sound under the hood. it is cool! |

Transfer case linkeage popped out on the trail yesterday, so today I wrestled the bushing off my transfer case linkeage rod and went looking for a replacement. Nada at checker, advanced, or autozone (no surprise). The guy at NAPA told me he just replaced all the linkeage bushings on his XJ. NAPA does not carry them, but he said stealerships have them since it is a frequent replacement part.
When I got home, I washed, waxed, and detailed big red. Earlier in the month, I replaced my BB with a 3.5" RE lift (arms, shocks, springs, brake lines), including a D44a LSD axle, 231J w/ SYE & tom woods shaft. Wow, what a nice ride now. Taking out the old 249 takes out one point of slip in the drive train, and it was really noticeable. Better control and response on the trail. And, now I have rear disc brakes instead of the drums on my old D35. All in all, it has been a good month.

changed the plugs today. gained 1 mpg. that was a suprise? i guess i am old, i never changed plugs so easily since my 68 chevy w/350. they were right on top w/ the long tube things and no standard plug wires!!!!! amazing how some cheap standard tuneup stuff can make your rig healthier and more responsive.cleaned the aic and washed my undercarriage for fluid filming and diff cover painting tomorrow. also, a nice long bath. MY JEEP LOVES ME. next i will have to post a thread and ask what mods to perform on my wife to get her to love me like my jeep does!!!!!!!!!!

Mike, my old roommate & good friend is driving my Jeep.
My tire was barely touching my fender...no damage. Not even any noise.

Drove the Jeep to look at a Craigslisting of a 96 (listed as 97) white ltd. w/170K miles (listed w/160K) and walked away. Looking for a Ltd. for my wife. It had too many issues and we didn't even start it.
