VonEricsen's Build thread

Well i decided i'd make myself a build thread after reading lots of other ones and i think it would be a good way to keep track of what i do to my Jeep, so here it goes:

My parents bought this brand new and we've had it since then. Itís been off-road quite a bit, but since moving to Colorado 8 or so years ago it hasnít seen nearly as much off-road use.

I am now the driver of it, since my first year of college. Hereís the oldest pic I have of it, I might see if I can find more and add them:

And last year I went through a mud puddle that was a little too deep and it sat until the engine could be rebuilt:

That was a sad day, but runs great now and I wonít be going through big deep puddles like that again.

i got my build sheet and here's that:

So far not a lot has been done.
When my parents first bought the Jeep, my dad put some kind of aftermarket chip in it, I believe it was a mopar one but Iím not entirely sure, nor is he. lol.
I bought and installed a K&N intake, that gave a significant boost in power...but it needs more. Lol

Back in December of 2009, I installed the hood vents:

I went to a junk yard and got a replacement roof rack cross member, and a third one to eventually use as a light bar...just need money for lights. lol
Just this week i painted the bumpers and side panels, turned out really nice. I also painted and meshed the grill. Hereís some pics:

Next on the list:
New tires (essential since there's not much tread left)
Lift it (thinking 3.5inch IRO kit)
KOR radiator support
Steering box brace to help fix the loose steering
And more to come after that, but Iíll start there when i have money to do all that

@MRm318-My mom bought those PIAA lights long before i could drive, back when my dad drove it. I checked on their website and they are a bit pricey, but i love them. They aren't fogs, but they work well i fog, i'm thinking of adding some fogs somewhere, but i'm not sure where yet.

@BlackbeastZJ-i thought about tinting them, but i havent had time to do that yet, but i think i'll end up doing that sometime in the future. maybe in a few weeks when nothings going on over a weekend and its nice out again.

Yeah, I'm a legitimately poor college student also.

Big Tip : Don't waste your time on a budget boost and stuff...Just get a lift kit first.
I spent money on BB, shocks, other stuff...and now i'm just gonna go bigger cause my tires are too big...lol

Wish I woulda just went with the IRO 3.5 kit in the first place.

i was thinking of doing a budget boost for a while, but i decided that i'm just going to go for the 3.5inch IRO kit once i have then money for it....i'm saving what i can for it, but i'm thinking i'll be able to afford it sometime over the summer.

Ya know I thought about the budget boost too and i was thinking why spend 200 dollars on it when you can save 200 more and have the 3.5 kit and more room to stuff taller tires

haha, thats exactly my thought. I see that theres an awesome deal involving a group buy going on right now, but sadly i dont think i'll have the money by then to get those savings hopefully sometime this summer i can get the lift though...just have to wait and see what happens..you never know when money is going to fall from the sky. lol
