Then why restore the ZJ? Seems like a waste of money if you're just going to trade it in.

I'd either plan on keeping the niner forever or spending as little on it as possible and getting rid of it ASAP. You're never going to get back any of the money you put into it.

I vote for keeping it forever...

not gonna dump a ton into it...."restore" was probably the wrong word. Basically just going to fix the small things to get more out of it when I sell it. And I will ost likely sell it to a jeep fan rather than trade it in. I can get out of it from someone that respects what it is. Going to fix:

1) head liner
2) VIC
3) light switch (instrument panel dims off and on when lights are on due to cracker solder)
4) replace 249 with 242

probably less that $400 in parts but could get me an extra $500-$1000 considering the excellent shape the rest of the jeep is in. Plus it will keep me busy with small projects for a while

Gotcha. I'm not even doing a real restoration but I've dumped twice what I paid for the jeep into it... I know I'm never going to get that back. But I'm ok with that.

I'd love to have it but I think with the new J-10, I'm off limits for buying any vehicles right now. Plus, I think ReJeana would have issues getting the baby and herself into and out of yours! Good luck selling it though. It's an amazing vehicle!
