Underneath damage (is it serious?? help...)

Hey guys,

I was driving my 2013 Grand Cherokee tonight, and I must have ran over something metal. When I picked up my boyfriend, I noticed that part of a plastic covering on the driver's side underneath the truck was missing. It seems like it cracked and fell off. The driving was still the same, so I am really curious. What is the plastic covering underneath the driver's side covering. It doesn't seem serious, but I would like to make sure because we are going on a small road trip tomorrow.

Thanks! Jenn

Might want to try the wk2 technical forum, not the general section for grands. But that aside if it's a plastic cover that broken it's most likely not a big deal.

I'm not sure what it's called but there's a plastic shield under there that covers the fuel (and brake?) lines that run to the rear of the vehicle. If you hit something hard enough to shatter the plastic then I'd definitely get it checked out.

Tell your BF to man up and figure it out.
