She's clean, but there are a couple little problems (being a Jeep and all)

rear glass doesnt open

rear wiper doesnt work

catalytic converter sounds like its full of wrenches

wrong serp belt

transmission feels jumpy reversing up hills (could be the VC?)

thats about it really other than a couple cosmetic things on the inside...

Decided to fix up the cladding/ bumpers a little bit today. Here's a tip: neatsfoot oil/paint thinner mixed 50/50 works wonders. Found that out by accident after putting the oil on my leather and grabbing the door handle, noticing my hands had turned it back to black. The paint thinner is so the oil can penetrate deeper into the plastic...

I actually returned my glass struts that I bought after I realized I never used it anyways. Especially after lifting, I just use the gate.

My wiper never worked on my ZJ, it would blow the fuse every time you tried to use it. It likely just needed a new motor, but I just pulled the wire harness off it after removing the inner panel. I was used to driving a Camaro with a huge back glass that was almost horizontal. Having a vertical rear window, I didn't ever use it. In fact, I don't think I have ever used the rear wiper on the WJ. I did replace the blade this winter though, I think my wife uses it.

Time for a new cat, I would get a low cost high flow one from summit racing.

I don't think it would be the VC, but who knows. If you are backing up straight, and all four tires are spinning equally, I don't think the VC is really engaging in any way.

EDIT: X2 on GSW

Found out tonight the VC is DEFINITELY having problems. Went to u-turn to pull into the Maverik station and got all the jerking and tire chirping of being in 4wd on dry pavement. Anyone know a good write up of replacing it, or should I just go with a 242 swap?

Definitely swap in a 242, rebuilding a 249 isn't worth the cost.
