Havent done too much the past couple days, have had a few side jobs taking up my time. I did get a set of rear bump stops/coil retainers built. As well as started making the limit strap clevis mounts. After I get the limit strap clevis mounts, I have to make front bump stop extensions. After that the suspension is 100% done and it will be on to the hydro assist.

Last night I spent about an hour and a half and did a full clean up, crap was everywhere and I was getting tired of stepping over everthing.

Limit strap clevis mounts. Just need to make another pair for the rear.

Did you get the skid plate installed? You have any pics of it on?

Skid plat is all finished, I just havent installed it yet because I still need to run a new t-case shifter cable and my front driveshaft. But If you want Ill throw it up there tomorrow and snap a few pics for ya.

Had the pressure washer out cleaning up our loader, so I gave the diffs a good cleaning to get all the sand out from blasting.

The riv nuts worked beautifully! I tested one in a spare piece of 3/16th (same thickness are frame stiffeners). I torqued it to 70, then 80, 85, 86, and at 87 ft lbs the riv nut finally snapped in half. I don't plan on tightening my skid any more than 40-45 ft lbs, but it's great knowing the abuse they can take.

I'll get you some pics tomorrow afternoon on my lunch break.

Here ya go.

Riv Nuts

Skid

There are 9 holes drilled on each side of the skid. I decided to only drill 6 into the frame rail stiffeners. I was worried that 9 5/8 holes would weaken them

Clearence for t-case. There is 5/8" between the bottom of the skid and the case. I got the reinforcement extra close so I have no worries about the two ever meeting.

Let me know if you have any more questions

Man that looks great, you did a very solid clean job. The 231 case must be clocked higher that the 242hd cause your almost flat and still have room. Thanks for the pics!

Thank you sir. Yeah, I cant tell if the 231 clocks a little higher, or if the clayton stiffeners sit down lower.

Between work and side work, I havent had time to do much to the wj. Got a ride coming up on black friday that I really really want to make, so im shooting for that. Good news is the side work should be slowing down a little, so I should have plenty of time.

I did have to call in some reinforcements though to help me finish the job on a TJ i was working on. My 2 year olds' first time getting dirty in the shop and helping dad. Proud moment for me.

Also ordered a set of 76-78 eldorado calipers for the sterling disc brake conversion. I figured id order them now while they were still available to me locally. I also have all the e-brake parts for them coming from blackbirds customs.

Got the e-brake springs and levers from blackbird. Ill just have to fab the cable mounts, but those are easy.

Also made some progress on my lunch break today. Got the tubes cut, and the caps cut and drilled for my front bumpstop/coil retainers. Gonna weld them up tonight hopefully. After that, just have to torque everything, run the t-case cable, get limit straps, and go wheel!
