Tires: Hankook h727 vs AT or Goodyear Wrangler RT/S

Hey all,

I have been doing a lot of research on tires, and have not come up with anything conclusive. I have a few quotes from big box stores around here for a few different tires. Hankook Optimo H727's, Hankook Dynapro AS, Goodyear Wrangler Radial, or Goodyear Wrangler RT/S.

Of the 4 tires, which would be best for long distance in the snow? I do about four 500+ mile trips per year in the snow. I do not offroad all that often, and light duty at that.

Would you have any other suggestions for 235/75/R15's that are less than $500 bucks total?

I will make my purchase tomorrow, the more suggestions the better.

I really appreciate it!

sorry.

hankook dynapros i guess.

Wrangler Radials are the suck in snow. Get the Duratracs. You'll spend more than 500, but you'll be smiling.

@JohnnyZJ, Thanks for being honest! I know that they all suck, but I am a student, and don't have much more than $500 bucks to put into new tires. I currently have Wrangler GSA's, and they are awesome, but are entirely bald, and have a lot of dry rot.

@LordHobbit, 200 bucks a pop! I would have to sell my car to afford those! LOL!

Do you guys have any other suggestions that wont break the bank for a mostly highway ZJ?

GSA = Get Stuck Always. those suck too ;)

been there man. i was a poor *** student. now i'm just a poor ***.

look for good used tires on kijiji or craigslist. often you can find some jeep take offs from someone that installed larger tires. might be a way to get some decent meats. or at least, cheaper :)

General Grabber AT2 is a good tire for a reasonable price.

Really???? I was told to stay away from General Tires. I guess it all depends on how much $$$ you are willing to throw at a brand, but i have not heard great things.

Thanks for the suggestions guys!!!
