I won that 99+ manifold, and bought the IRO exhaust kit with the flo-pro hybrid muffler. Hopefully it sounds ok, otherwise I'll swap it out eventually. The IRO stuff will be here Friday, and I'm going to pick up the manifold this weekend. Now if I only had time to work on it...

That's a good price. Even better because you get the fuel rail, injectors, and TB with it. When's the exhaust come in?

Got the ZJ on the road yesterday, now it starts to pull DD duties. I think the lift plans have changed as well, I'm going to keep it mild while I save up to build LA's, gear the axles, etc. I'll be buying the OME kit that was on Squash's 5.9, and running the 33's I have. The coils should net me ~2", so I'll add a 1.5" spacer up front to make room and level it out after the 8.8 swap. I'm going to pick up a hitch this week too, then I just need some sort of front recovery point. I haven't decided if I'm going to build a KOR knockoff, only beefier, or just track down some OEM hooks. We'll see what comes up when I go to the junkyard. Then a little hammertime and it's wheelable. Here's a few assorted pichahs, keen eyes will notice the other subtle mod I did this week....

Here's the 8.8 and the new exhaust, I stole the tip from my old F150's exhaust set-up. I'm very happy with the IRO exhaust kit, it fits well and the flo-pro muffler sounds great. It has a nice deep tone if you get on it, but no droning and it's not obnoxiously loud.

Ignore the mismatched rear tires, I threw the spare on for inspection. I'm pretty sure it's the original tire from '94, and the wheel looks like it's brand new.

Got some stuff done today so I can get a sticker Tuesday.

All of this just to pull the ABS bulb...

Mounted an extinguisher for club runs/safety.

A sneak peak of what may be the new tire/wheel combo.

The Jeep had growth spurt thanks to some help from Squash.

And I got the compressor mounted and wired.

All that's left this week is to mount the front hooks, paint and mount the hitch, then mount up the transfer case skid if I get a chance. Then next weekend it's wheeling time. I'll post up again in a few days with a review of the OME lift, but so far I'm very happy.

First a quick review of the OME kit. Awesome., review done. But seriously it rides great with little to no body roll, and did great offroad today. Squash and I went up to southern NH and ran some fun trails with a good mix of rocks, ledge and mud. Here's some pictures.

Posing to start the day.

We were only a few minutes up the trail when I had troubles shifting into 4wd. When I climbed under the Jeep I realized that the rear DS coil had come out of it's hold down, most likely due to our slightly excessive speed... Luckily this ended up being a relatively quick fix, but it confirmed the complaint I've had about IRO's coil retention design. I'll have to come up with something better before I take it out again. We flexed the Jeep out to take the pressure of the spring, then it popped right back into place.

Airing up to head home, luckily with no major carnage.

Looks like a good time. As for the rear coil, I had concerns about that when I did my 8.8 also. I used ballistic brackets, but they are pretty much the same design as IRO. What I did on mine was cut a hockey puck in half and put it in between the coil pad and the spring retainer. You can kind of see it in this pic.
