I've only blown one shaft and the locker, which isn't terrible, but I was really hoping for zero issues. It would be nice to just wheel it instead of fix it for a while...

Wheeled two days this weekend without any major issues. It was nothing crazy, but some fun places I'd never been to before. My DS rear soft line from the caliper to the axle finally rubbed through, so I ordered two 9" SS lines from PolyPerformance, and a hand throttle too. I've been wanting to do the hand throttle for a while, and since I'm going down to Rausch Creek in a few weeks, where there's a lot of low speed, technical trails I figured I might as well do it now. Besides those little issues, all I want o get done before I go down there is some more minor trimming up front, and see if I can fix and then mount my winch. Maybe change the oil too, it's almost a year old now...

RIGHT?!!??!

Went wheeling yesterday with a couple friends and had a blast. It was a beautiful day and we covered a lot of ground, and only had a little carnage.

Lookin' bro'd out.

TPFB's sister rig, Squashman's 94 5speed kicking ***. It's open/open on a 2" OME kit with 31'' Duratracs and it did great all day, he only had to beat on it a couple of times.

Aaaaand here come the I told you so's. While trying this line I got a little throttle happy and the Jeep hooked to the right and slammed into the tree you can see in this picture.

Causing this.

It ripped the steel around the welds, which probably wasn't helped by the fact that I ground everything down so it looked good. I ended up hooking a strap to it and tearing it all the way off so it wouldn't get into the tire and cause more problems. I'm not 100% on what I'm going to do with it yet, I may just clean it up and slap the tubes back on, then add a brace like people had said, or I may redo the sides of the bumper out of plate instead of tube. I never really liked the way the tubes looked, but I'm lazy and I'm not sure I want to put all that work into redoing the bumper. I'll figure it out after NACfest, I'm leaving Wednesday night for Rausch Creek and I don't have time to do anything about it before then.

Hey, just stumbled across your build! Looking good!

Met ya back in May after the NEA meeting when we wheeled at Jonfunds property. I have the silver TJ and in WM4x4.

Maybe we will do some wheelin' if you guys head up to F&F next month.

Hey, thanks for the compliments man!

I'm trying to head up for the July 4th weekend just to hang out, but I'll definitely be there for the UJ/WM4x4 weekend to wheel. How many guys from your club are headed up for that trip?

Not exactly sure yet, but I think it should be a good turnout, so I'd guess around 10 rigs. I'll have to start a thread for the planning of it and get a count.

Is there any other way?

I didn't get any pics from Rausch, but I'll steal some tonight and try to get an update together. I smashed the top of the passenger's side front corner in the comp course on Thursday. I came up over a small ledge, couldn't see the other side, and ended up plowing into an undercut ledge. It ****ed up what was left of the lights/header panel on that corner, but I'll just get some ebay **** and slap it back together. The only other carnage came on Saturday when I snapped a stock front axleshaft, a Warn hub and ripped a rear shock mount off, bending the shock. All in all it was a great weekend and I was more than happy with how the Jeep did.

Here's a few pics from Saturday, I don't have any from Thursday yet.

Our group for the day.

A little flex.

Then I broke the shaft...

Ruh-roh.

SLAMMEDDDDDD.

A quick fix with some help from a passerby with a winch.

I'll post more when I get them.

What's left of the Warn.

It turns out to warranty them I have to send both back, so I just ordered a second set as spares and to keep me wheeling while I return this set. That way when I break more in the future I won't have to worry about any down time.
