Thanks for the compliments guys, I'm really happy with how it's turned out.

Squash threw the 4.5" coils in the rear tonight, so now I have some usable uptravel from the shocks finally. Unfortunately it sits higher than I would have liked, but hopefully it will settle a little. Got the front shaft back in too, so she's ready to rock for this weekend.

Also, kind of a cool story from work for anyone who's interested. This happened last week, but I just got the pictures.

This:

Came in dead on this:

They had been using it to break up bridge supports at low tide, when the engine died. A few of their mechanic's spent ~3-4 hours trying to get it going, only to realize it was a lost cause and the engine wasn't going to start back up. At that point the tide had started coming back in, and they didn't have enough time to pull the drive motors so it could be dragged to shore. It ended up submerged above the cab in salt water for ~10-12 hours, and is now totaled. We dragged it off the trailer with a PC400 and shoved it in the back of the yard until the insurance company comes and writes it off. This is the fourth excavator this company has lost in the ocean in the past 6 or so years. Seems like they should be a little more careful...

That Pete is nice. I also like how he's riding dirty with that Cat on the back, DOT would have a field day if they pulled that over.

Hahaha, after pulling around mostly assembled 1250's I don't think they worry much about a machine that size. I think most heads get turned anyway...

We call Dave squash because he has a giant domepiece. Too bad it's mostly empty...

Meh, nothing really. It started up after I floored it while cranking. It's done this before after I *cough*stalled*cough* it, who knows why.

I went wheeling with a big group on Saturday and had a blast. The rigs ranged from my size up to buggy's, including Lucas Murphy's KOH car. Talk about impressive, I'd never seen a rig that well built/badass in person before. The Jeep did excellent, and handled almost everything I threw at it with no issues or breakage. I did have to pull cable on the last hill, but it's rated 'extreme' on a good day and was covered in ice/mud, so I can't complain. Plus it gave me a chance to test the new winch, which is slow but strong. No pictures yet, the girlfriend has them and I'm away for training/work this week, I'll get the few good ones up next weekend.

The trip did bring back to light the areas the Jeep is still lacking. I need some sort of rocker protection ASAP, before I destroy the body. I have the T&T stiffeners plus all the 2x2 and 2x4, I just have to get the work done. I'm hoping to start driving my Rabbit again soon, so the Jeep won't be the DD. That will give me the time to get the cut outs done, then finish up the new front end and address the other issue I found, the lack of a front locker. It's amazing how spoiled the ARB made me, and how much of a difference it makes on the trail. There's not a lot of work left to be done on the axle, and the only part I need is the install kit. Hopefully it will be wrapped p by the end of March.

Wheeling pictures.

This is the hill I had to pull cable on, I got this far and couldn't make any more progress. The winch worked well though.

Parked in Peterborough, NH to get some dinner.
