Think Twice Garage's Project TPFB
This will be the latest, and hopefully greatest, build from the hacks of the TTG. I picked up this wicked clean 94 ZJ, 4.0, 5spd, with 168k for $1,000 to replace my current wheeler(Build thread: http://www.jeepforum.com/forum/f177/...phant-1046955/). I'll be reusing some of the parts from the XJ, but most of it will be new. The goal of this project is to be a compromise rig that will serve full time DD duties in the winter, as it is replacing my F150 as well, but still be able to wheel heavy and often. Here's a few pictures before I outline the plan, so I don't lose anyone with a short attention span.
The money shot.
As of now the plan is:
-HP30, 4.88's, ARB, Chromo's, WJ Knuckles/brakes
-8.8, 4.88's, IRO brackets, welded for now, ARB when money allows
-~4.5" lift, RE SF short arms, BBCS's all around
-35x12.5x15 Goodyear MTR-k's on MT Classic II's
-T&T stiffeners, 4x4 cutouts
-Homemade bumpers and armor
-Flipped&Sticked D300, also when money allows
-Other misc. stuff like hand throttle, OBA, tinted windows, CB, discos, blah blah blah
The T&T stiffeners came in today, and I picked up 24' of 2x2, and 14' of 4x4, all 3/16" last week, so as soon as I figured out why there's no 5th gear the fun will begin. Hope you guys enjoy it, and any input is always appreciated.

Why not? Guaranteed no one will have anything like it on the trail.

I see what you're saying and agree, to a point. While 5 speed Grand's are rare, they hold no special cash value, and will never really be a collector's item to anyone but a true Jeep nut. The same could be said for 5.9's and Orvis's, but you see those being built all them time. Worst case I ruin this body, and have all the parts to build a clone in the future. My big thing is the options and comfort a Grand offers over a regular Cherokee, the only turn-off I had was most are auto. This lil guy just happened to solve that problem and pop up at the right time.
On another note, I'm stuck working a bunch of OT this weekend, which means no time for the Jeep, but plenty of cash next week to buy the IRO brackets. Things should start moving quickly once I get a few days free.

Sorry, I am not familiar with the Grand Cherokee dash layout. The lower panel looked like a place where the radio would have gone. Mystery solved, you can all get back to your lives now...
