How to fix shock mounts..

So I have..well had the RCX relocator brackets on my shocks. Constant trips through the woods and general beating my Jeeps *** caused them to fail. Which is no bueno! Both my rear shocks completely broke off taking some of the axle mount with them. So I was in a pickle, and poor on top of it. I had some old control arms laying around and got to thinking, this is what I came up with..

The mount, after one failed attempt at re-welding it..

The arm end cut off..

Starting to take alittle shape..

And finally my buddy bryan welding it in..

Its redneck engineering at its finest but it cost nothing and actually works fantastic. The width of them arm at the mount allowed to re-install a spacer back in there so the shock will still clear the wheel.

Now im probably the only idiot out there to ever rip his shock mounts off but just in case it ever happens to anybody else your old stock control arms are useful!

Did alittle weekend wheeling

Put my roof rack back on, put some fog lights on the hood, ripped my bumper back off and lost a coil spring

New door will be on soon along with skid plates, gotta find where some vibrations are coming from first

Well its been awhile and I have no idea if this is in order or not. Honestly havent posted much since ive beaten my jeep into a royal POS...

Well the Jeeps on 6.5 inches now (Yes I have new wheels, still trying to acquire some tires for it)

I acquired a ton of body damage which has since been fixed..2 new fenders, and new doors. Ouch.

Got a winch plate bumper thingy, I plan on building a bumper or going back to a stock bumper with the RC winch mount.

And now for the good stuff...

IRO long arms being shipped as I type, should be getting them Thursday or Friday

Dana 44A I picked up a few days ago. Its getting a differential skid, and Claytons truss. I plan on getting another 44 for the front, doing 456s. Leaving the Vari-lok in the rear and lunchbox locking the front.

Basically whats going on right now is im trying to build my jeep back up again. Some of the things not listed that I have waiting to go in: Ball joints, wheel bearings, TREs.

Things being ordered in coming weeks: New track bar with KOR bushings, New springs, Bad apple fab light bar, Rear A-arm and lowers, Solid diff covers etc etc..

I had planned on running it into the ground and getting another but now im attatched. The plans are to get this one good to go then find a limited or overland to drive back and forth to work.
