Tail light stays on

I have a 2011 Grand Cherokee Overland. The Left rear tail light stays on even if the vehicle has been off for hours. Anybody have any ideas on what the problem is?

It could be something like an ineffective feed circuit (short circuit) or ineffective TIPM inputs or outputs.

By the way, the info in your profile appears to be wrong - you can't have a 2011 XJ. I'm assuming you meant WK (as you mentioned you had a Grand Cherokee in your post..
