I just realized I've never done a build thread on here, so lets get you caught up...

Started back in 2004 when I was going to school at Young Harris College in NE GA. I was 30 minutes from Tellico and 5 from Beasley Knob. Jeep got a Teraflex S4W lift, Mopar TC skid, KOR sliders, some 31" Trxus, Surco rack, and the prototype KMA rear bumper/tire carrier.

At Tellico:

Cool pic from Beasley Knob:

KMA rear bumper:

Graduated from YHC and transferred to Elon U where I didn't wheel for 2 years so I sold the rear bumper (regret that ;() and roofrack. After Elon, moved back to Asheville and got back to building...

2007: Added a BB on top of the 4" lift and got some new tires. Firestone Destination MT's

It was too tall and rode like ****, so I dropped the BB.

Back down to 4" and wheelin at a local spot.

Those rocks managed to slide over my sliderz and still got into my rockers so I added an extra bar on top.

Added a Lockrite to the D30 and started snapping shafts like it was my job. After breaking at least 1 shaft everytime I put it in 4-lo I decided to upgrade. Dutchman 27 spline Chromo u-joint axles and XJ stubs with the WJ tone ring.

2008: Picked up a ARB bumper and built some custom LA's with the help of a friend. Radius arms up front, long lowers only in the rear.

Added some rock lights:

And then.........this. Broken piston skirt

So decided to rebuild and make it to a 4.5L budget stroker
Parts list (you can see why I frequently recommend Falcon for any kind of engine part, they're prices were unbelievable!)

Getting it put back together:

Stroker build thread:

Swapped in the ZJ washer fluid reservoir.

Bought a welder (lincoln 180) and did the tank lift and built a belly skid.

Then I decided to convert the radius arms up front to a 3-link and swapped the rubber UCA bushing out for a JJ:

Found a used Warn XD9000I on CL for cheap, and decided it was worth cutting up the ARB to make it fit.

I was on SA's at the time, and to make it worse, they were RK short arms which didn't use bushings. They had heim joints at both ends which made the ride extremely stiff!

No the stock intake tube fell apart, which was another contributing factor to the swap. I actually don't like the filter the way it is, it got splashed by a lot of mud while wheeling at GSSE-W at Windrock. I really need to make some kind of heat/slash shield for it. I used a 3" to 3" rubber coupler (ACE hardware) a PVC 45 elbow and a regular K&N cone filter from the autopart store. You really need to get the thickest gauge PVC that you can find. I started out with a relatively thin elbow and it deformed from the engine heat and let the filter fall off while wheeling at Callalantee (sp?). Now I've actually got a Spectre filter on there.

Hmmm thanks. i'm trying to do the ZJ washer mod but i need to move the stock air box and i'm not paying $200 for a K&N. i might just try to make a smaller bottle somewhere i can fit it.
