I'm messing with the idea with my refund money just to go all out and blow on this good ole jeep of mine, but I'm not convince of the ride of the 2.2 shocks and i would liked to have packaged Bilsten Shocks with the X kit for the price. how are the springs and shocks wearing? Noticing any weak points about the lift?

I like the ride. The weak point is for sure the sway bar quick discos. /: they are a little clunky. Not a huge problem.

sorry to hijack the thread split but i wanna give him my on the rough country lift
ive had my lift for a year now and this is what i think

-rides good and smooth with good handling
-when you hit a bump or alot of bumps be prepared for the "rough" part in "rough country" haha
-if you get the kit DO NOT use the rear shock relocation bracket because it just ruins the top bushings on your shocks and that just makes alot of clunking
-i dont like the fact that they just put a spacer in between your mount for the rear sway bar link.. they should just supply you with new links
-the disconnects arnt very "quick" i had to drill out the bushings a bit on mine

overall its a good kit for a starter

I'm sorry to burst your bubble but you will not get the bilsteins thrown into that lift for the same price. Bilsteins run about $300 for 4 IIRC. The only weak points I have noticed are the shocks of course. They aren't that bad. Its a jeep. Man up and deal with a semi rough ride. Its not made for mall crawling. I get tired of hearing people complain about the ride. Yes a good ride is nice but for the price of the kit, its a decent deal.

I like the flex and capability I get from the kit. I commute 30 miles a day and its fine.

I used the relocation brackets. tis fine. The only clunk I get is the control arms. Thats known for the RC kit. I deal with it. Half the time my music is cranked up anyways!

Sorry for the hijack andrew.

from my relocation bracket my bushings are worn out because it put them at an angle

i dont have the x series so my front CAs are fixed and i dont have the "x-flex" joints

the only clunk i get up front is from the bar pin for the shocks but that can easily be solved with bar pin eliminators

Thanks for the info, I'm looking for opinions all around, seen he had the lifted so doesn't hurt to get the story right from the horse's mouth.
One of my concerns was it is a good starter kit, but I think I'm just going to lifted it a little ahead of starter.

Not really complaining trying to make a informed decision before throwing money on it. Pretty sure i relized that it was a jeep but thanks for the help I know the rough ride, but people who have the bisteins seem pretty set on the quality of the product. I have been thinking about this for almost two years and its about time to start stocking up and then the great build will commence. So I don't think I'm gonna skip on quality. I would go with claytons if I had the welding experience.

I don't see how. I actually stopped running it to see if the smoke was from that. But no it's not. /:

well I'm glad that's not it, I am going to be doing the treatment too, soon.

After reading your oil issue the other day, I checked my oil, and I'm about a quart low...no dripping or smoke though. but with 101k on the clock it's kinda expected
