Yeah, no, he bought it. I'd be curious to know the thickness as well.

Also the roof rack I had sucked and the paint came off and started to rust onto the top of my jeep. This new swing away tire rack is by Hitchgate. They make them for trucks and then for hitches. They are crazy expensive, but I found mine on Craigslist in CA when I lived in TX. The guy just wanted to get rid of it quick, so I paid the crazy shipping and some money, but I think shipped to the local UPS store for right around 300. Gotta watch craigslist. It was originally put on the back of a Ford Bronco so the bolts didn't line up, but I was able to cut them off and modify it to fit the WJ lug pattern. Then I just bought a lock to put around it and keep the honest people honest. If a thief wants the tire they will get it in my opinion. The hitch has a lock pin to keep it from being stolen. It's heavy too. I've been thinking about going to a local fab shop and seeing if they can attach it to the frame underneath the bumper and just cut holes in the bumper to make it look more stock, seeing how I already have the hinge and steel.

Yea I bought it shipped for 300. It's really heavy and I couldn't tell you how thick or what kind of steel it is. The supplier must make a killing on it if metal is as inexpensive as you say.

awwww. sounds like youre growing up i work 630 until at least 430 mon-thurs. but hey, it pays for the jeep...my only advice is to get a job doing something you love, and get a chick who makes bank, bc then everything's easier
