Yea, also noticed today that I'm burning oil.... Should I run a thicker oil?

trimming the fenders is the best long-term solution, will help if you ever go bigger tires... you may find you still need bump-stop exts then. Iron Rock Offroad offers custom length aluminum ones.

I noticed today that I'm burning oil..... What should I do? Run a thicker oil?

With bumpstops, you need to measure at full compression. It all depends on tire size. It is usually around lift height but trimming the fenders does change a lot. I would think if you trimmed your fenders, then your bumpstops would be mainly used to stop the shock from bottoming out.

As for the burning oil, I don't know. Mine does it to every now and then when it sits of camber for more than a couple minutes.. Something I have accepted with 190K on the clock. Just bring extra oil.

Yea, I'm going to wait on the bump stops until I get the fenders all trimmed up, then I'll see if I still need them.

And for the oil. Should I plan on doing a motor rebuild and replace the piston rings?

Does it seem to be burning oil any other time?

I am waiting until I HAVE to pull mine and rebuild it or will swap something else in. If it isn't burning anything during normal driving, I wouldn't worry about it to much unless you want to rebuild it. Mine has done it for about 30K now.

Yea, I burns just on normal driving. I think the odometer has been tampered with, or replaced. Its a salvage title... I dont know how to feel. It says 100K so to me thats WAY to early to be burning oil. I saw it today, but I was wheeling. But the guys said even on the way to the trail it was burning oil. Maybe I have it over filled.

I noticed I burned some oil the other day too... I was sitting at idle for a few minutes, then blipped the throttle and some blue smoke flew by It wasn't consistent and that was the first time I've seen it. Hopefully the last!

Perhaps we should have a V8 Dub rebuild-a-thon?
