I really need new rear control arms If anyone has any please let me know. Adjustable would be preferred.

Also tested my alternator at work and the machine said Failed Diodes.... If someone could explain that would be great!

And I drove in AWD in the rain with aussie locker. It was interesting. But fun!

diodes only alow either negative or positive voltage to proceed and when placed in a certain configuration will convert AC to DC in a rotating rectifier diode.

i didnt think of you having a slipring rather than brushes. most newer alternators do.
here is a good cut away.

so the rotor(coil of wire) rotates in the middle of the alternator spun by a belt from the engine. while rotating the magnetic feild of the electrified coil of wire in the rotor pushes and pulls on the magnetic field of the coils of wire on the out side of the alt,(stators) which causes the wave of HZ(hertz aka Frequency). this is sent through the slipring, which to the best of my knowledge is a bearing which doubles as a connection and continues to the rectifier which has diods placed in a manner so that the positive (top) side of the sin wave is allowed through a set of diodes while the negative(bottom) or the sin wave is sent through diodes that only accept negative voltage. both sets of voltage are routed to the same medium in the form of DC which no longer has a wave but is a straight line of voltage.

So if my diode is going bad. Should I just replace the whole thing?

oo here is a good one. the first minute shows the rotor stator i was talking about. the rest is based on the volt reg. I cant find anyone in my career feild who can really teach me anymore about slip rings. most alternators are brushless and use sliprings, however i'm seeing in a lot of these auto alternators have both in one way or another.

refurbishing appears to be cost efficient since most people sell refurbished alternators. I havent taken yours apart and looked at how easy yours is or how expensive the diodes are. but hopefully this will give you an idea of what is going on and like you said, a wk alt would be nice for lights, air compressor, winch, and speakers.

Yea, I would rather just buy a new one with a lifetime warranty and have it be "high output"
