I just picked up a '99 WJ last weekend and plan on putting the tires/wheels off my '09 JK Rubi Unlim on it. Hence a few questions for you since you have the same tires. The stock Rubi wheels are 17x7.5 with 6.25" of backspace and I have some 1.25" spacers which I plan to use that I barely got away with not needing when I lifted the Rubi which...now the questions.

Approx how much have you had to trim and how much rubbing do you still have? It looks like you wheel a little harder than I will, so if it's working for you then I'm pretty sure it'll work for me. I should end up about .25" closer in than you as well which should cut down on the bumper trimming just slightly.

Other than a little clunk that you're trying to figure out, any other issues you've had? Happy with the road manners too?

I'm sure I'll come up with more questions too....

Thanks.

Congrats!!! I know you will love it! Keep up on all the fluids and everything should be good.

I have only trimmed the front bumper cover. I rub REALLY bad on my fog lights. Im not sure what i'm gunna do. I plan on maybe cutting them out. I also plan on cutting into my fenders a little bit. You probably won't have to if you don't wheel like I do.

Nope, no other problems with the lift. Im thinking my noise if from bad ball joints. Im not sure how to test if they are bad or not.... I dont know. Ill figure it out.

If you have any more questions let me know.

PS: What lift are you gunna get?

Still TBD...I was thinking IRO till I saw your thread which now has me considering RC X as well. I need to spend a little time under the new WJ as well to get myself familiar with the suspension and see the differences between it and my ZJ and JK. I haven't seen any mention of a rear trackbar and haven't looked to see if the WJ's even have one.

Thanks again splitnail.

There isn't a track bar in the rear. After having this lift I would go with IRO 4.5 inch long arm kit.

Not sure that I'd want to dish out the extra cash for the long arm set up. Yeah it would ride better and perform better overall, but I just need a decent ride that will be safe at high speeds since about 95% will be on road.

I was thinking IRO 4" with adj. front uppers and either DT 8000 or the Bilsteins....probably the DT 8000.

The only thing I don't like about the RCX lift is it's noisy. The front control arms clunk a lot and they moan too. I'm gunna upgrade to the long arm kit in a little bit.

Eibach Anti Roll Sway Bar Kit -99 to 04 Jeep Grand Cherokee 2WD/4WD 6 & 8 Cyl.

Anyone thought about buying these? It's a crazy good price for front and rear. I feel like the addco are too stiff.

Eibach is some good stuff and it's a quarter inch smaller than the addco, but still 3/16" bigger than stock...should be a good happy medium for you.

.....no, I don't have one.....can just speak on quality of Eibach in general.

33x12.5? You will need to trim quite a bit of get some long bump stops. But it can be done. I plan on doing it when I need new tires.

The price kinda scares me. But they look really nice. Some guy said he liked them. I just want a little less body roll. I like to some. It makes me feel cool
