Love the zj build man. What did you trim the fenders with? Had you not trimmed would the 33s have rubbed pretty bad?

I trimmed with a jig saw after taping the area to avoid chipping the paint. I regret trimming the fenders somewhat, because now my door hinges get hammered with dirt and salt. Withought it though I would need taller bumpstops to avoid hitting the fenders. I will block them off later. If I had taller stops they would hit on big bumps on the road, requiring more lift. My goel is to keep the center of gravity very low. It worked great on my old Jeep and it made it go places that taller rigs with big tires could not go. I like showin up rigs that cost thousands more than mine. One was here:

There is a vid of a ZJ on 37's that had to go around this. The year before I climded a ledge with only a trac loc that 3 TJs, 2 had 37's, one was a rubi LJ, all went around after failing. The last guy watched me walk it in disgust.

jeep is looking good man noticed youre from 2 harbors, im in burnsville but make it up 3 or 4 times to gilbert. i used to wheel my xj on 8" and 35s but a lady cut me off and i rolled it. i now have my zj which is getting a 2" BB soon and ill be up for the crawl 4 the cure this year. not going to hit anything to hard. i still have the xj and will either be rebuilding it or swapping parts to another so thats the trail toy and the zh is the dd.

anyways, keep it up man, im slowly becoming a zj fan. i already love street driving it more than my xj. so comfy and so much more tame. just wish i had gotten a V8..my buddy has wildman's old niner and with the 5.9, 4.88s and 35s, its so freakin fast.

Nice man! I had the same deal w/my old xj. 4.5 on 34s and locked. Would wheel w/guys who had 37s and they had to go around stuff or take much longer. You should ck out my thread I have on 33s w/no lift. See what you think.

Thanks aircruiser, I watched the evolution of your XJ on MNJeep under the name NSWWannajeep. I like your ZJ too, a V8 is nicer for the power but the ole 4.0 is alright.

Anymore progress? I picked me up a 96 zj 5.2. Getting it ready.

I'm going to go w/stock canyons and 1.25 spacers as well. Looks great! Can't decide which tire size. Start off w/31x10.50 this year and jump to 33x12.5 or 35x12.50 next year when I re-gear. Or just go 35x12.50 off the bat..

I guess you could call a Moab run in May progress. No new parts for now, saving up lots of gas money for the 3500 mile trip.

My club, North Shore Wheelers, drives their rigs out there and back from Two Harbors every year.

Moab is out for me. Just too dang much gas money to swing this year. I did pick up some Hella 770FFs and wired them into the factory fog wiring.

zj is looking good man, hope to see ya on the range sometime! ill probably be there with the zj for the iron rock customer appreciation event in september.

Today I picked up a free AX15, good newer clutch, flywheel and peddles from a 93 XJ. have to read up on swap ability but I know I need a newer 94 up bellhousing.
