So much wrong with my cherokee - help

Here's a list of things wrong with my '99 Jeep Grand Cherokee.

-the heat doesn't work or is very weak. We just changed the thermostat yesterday and now it's a little warmer, but in general it doesn't work like heat should and the defroster is awful.

-the tail light works when I have my lights on, but once I step on the brakes, the left tail doesn't work? It's weird.

-the knob for the heater doesn't work - had to attach a knob to even turn it on.

-the brakes hiss all the time. It used to just hiss when you let go of the brake but now even when it's just sitting normal it hisses. I know it's a leak in something but that's all I know. It sounds like air. Is it serious?
