so im going to fix up the interior a bit.

I have decided that since i am not going to be driving my jeep until i am able to save up the money to get it fixed (i have been unable to find a real job) that i will fix up the interior of it. this includes- a very through cleaning with some crazy carpet washing, pulling the headliner and recovering it, take off the peeling door panels- pull off the padded armrests and wood trim-fill in the holes- and either cover it with the same material as the headliner or spray paint them, and just make sure that all of the gunk left behind by the po is gone.
for the fabric i plan on using a realtree hardwoods pattern and somehow i am going to work in pirate skull and crossbones (its kinda a tradition). Any input/ideas/advice??? And about how many yards of fabric do i need for the headliner.

bad pics of said interior-

i dont know if you can tell by the pics but there are a lot of stains in the carpet (many more since these pics were taken) and the headliner sags like crazy so it is halfway out right now.

Try to find a camo pattern with shades of brown that complement the brown already in your Jeep. I did this with my Tacoma and it turned out really well

The shades of brown matched well enough that even people who didn't like camo much thought it looked nice. I've seen other people just throw a random pattern in their vehicle and it doesn't turn out nearly as nice.

With the light brown I think a shadowgrass-type pattern would work nicely.

Wow, I would hate for you to see my interior, yours looks good to me, I scrolled down and looked at the pics before reading and thought they were after cleaning pics.

Good luck with the project, I may re finish my headliner someday, but will likely just bedline it after putting in a cage.

well i never got around to pics... the headliner is now out, scraped off, and ready to be recovered. i started cleaning it up really well but i need a better vacuum.

does anybody know how to remove the panel that covers up the sunroof? it doesnt have fabric on it and the foam is constantly falling.

wow..you think that's a bad interior? I'll show you mine. Put it this way, the PO was a mechanic, and didn't give a **** about the truck.

Thank you. I miss having that interior actually. It was refreshing getting inside the truck everyday and seeing a project that had turned out so well.

the pictures make it look good but the carpet in the rear looked as if it had about a gallon of oil and a dozen colors of die spilled in it. the headliner was held up by the lights and pins, and it stunk to high heavens.

i finished my headliner but i was not able to figure out how to get the panel that covers the sunroof out to cover it so i cleaned off all of the foam i could and left it.

the headliner before i put it in-

i tried to get a close up of the fabric-

it was too dark to get a picture of it when i finished putting it up so i didnt get any pictures.

Just so you know you have to take the sunroof glass out to get the sliding panel out, its not that hard, there are instructions on here somewhere. I know when I did my headliner recovering that panel really completed the look.
