Yeah, no kidding Matt. I don't know what happened to it honestly? You're right, that's why I like doing stuff myself. I now have unlimited alignments for a year. Not bad.

Now I can't say its 100% fixed. I think it is better for sure. But I still believe that the track bar having that much play is still causing it to vibrate a little bit. I just don't know what else it could be. So tomorrow ill try to beef down on the frame side bolt. That doesn't do it, going for KOR bushings. Normal city road driving its pretty solid over most bumps. I was on a nasty road and it was kinda shaky. But it was really rough. So I think its pretty good to drive as of now. Just gonna give the track bar bolts a shot.

Cranked down some more on the frame side track bar bolt. Its probably around 90 foot pounds now. Give or take a little more. It was actually a little loose. Will take it for a spin a little later. You can see where it was moving around.

Where the bushing isn't red anymore? Eeek. I had sprayed a tad of wd-40 on the mount to get it up in there... is that hurting anything?

What do you all think

Gotcha. I didn't think it'd hurt anything. Just didn't know it moved that much. So I did tighten down the bolt more and that significantly helped the vibe I was feeling. Its almost completely gone. The bolt and or bushings had worked itself a little loose from the original torque when installing. I guess its kinda "breaking in" or whatever you want to call it. So ill probably check it again in a few days.

I am happy to say that its pretty much gone. Billz, I guess you were right from the start, cranking down on the bolts really helped out! Ill keep KOR bushings in the back of my head of they start to wear. AgitatedPancake had a JKS bar on his WJ rig for the longest time and he said that the bushings on crushed enough for the metal sleeve to slide through. I know he put his jeep through some crazy stuff so that give me some confidence in the JKS bar. Haha. Only thing now is it is squeaky over speed bumps and while turning. Most likely the bushings moving a little against the frame mount.

Poly bushings always need grease. Should grease both the bore (where the metal sleeve goes) as well as the faces of the bushing where it rubs on the body or axle. Given that it's already installed, I would go get a can of spray grease and just blast a bunch up in the general direction of the bushings. Unless, that is, you want to take it out and reinstall (PITA).

Whenever you install a bushing like this, grease it. Same goes for sway bar bushings, anywhere that metal rotates inside rubber needs grease.

****.... Alright. Its not going to like break if I don't grease it "properly"? But, if I go get some spray grease and get it in there, it'll be okay?

Should be fine until you have a chance to take it out and grease it up properly. At least it should stop the squeaking.

Crap, guess I gotta take it off and do it right haha. What type of grease? Kevin's off road said to use mineral oil with their bushing because petroleum would mess up Kevin's bushings. Don't know, so ill ask haha.

Just pick your favorite waterproof multipurpose grease and have at it. Whatever you used on the TREs will be fine.

Well here is my list of things left to do now.
  1. Grease the Track Bar Bolts
  2. Possibly but KOR Bushings in a week depending on how the JKS bushings hold up.
  3. Re-Center the steering wheel for the 100th time.
  4. Get the freaking a-arm Replaced. So annoying. Probably just go with a new mopar a-arm. Not sure.
  5. Get my driver door speaker replaced, blew it out. Thankfully I can get a new set for free. Yay for 3+ year warranty from the shop I got them installed from.
  6. Get Remote Start System put in. Lock/Unlock, Remote Start, Window up/down control, window break sensor, motion sensor, stupidly loud alarm, internal temperature monitor, and some other goodies.
  7. Engine Mounts

Other Misc Things
  1. Id still like to get the TPMS sensors going for the Jeep. Ill bet those sensors are dead on the Rouge Chrome's
  2. Like to get a set of 31 inch tires for the Rouge Chrome Rims.
  3. CB Radio and PA system.
  4. Fix the Drivers's seat motor
  5. Fix the Sunroof
  6. Blah
  7. Blah
  8. Blah
  9. Train Horn
  10. Blahhh
  11. Maybe getting some IRO Front Adjustable Lower Control arms for kicks, and more Caster
  12. Or just go long arms because I can see how the control arm angle (while not being that much) is transferring bumps into the cabin I now have no idea how people run like 4+ inches on short arms. Probably sucks. Maybe for a college grad present. Or a WK2 in 2015

That's a big list. I love my long arms! At work I have to cross railroad tracks after leaving the gate to go to lunch, I can hit them doing about 45 and go airborne haha and those long arms just absorb all the bumps and makes it feel like your riding on air!

You can do a cb and pa reasonably cheap like I did, 38$ cb from walmart, and get the rest of the stuff from RadioShack, they have the pa and all the cables and the antenna. All together I spent maybe 120 on my setup.

I also want train horns but don't know where I could put them so they won't get tore up when off roading.

Sent from my iPhone using JeepForum because I can!
