they look interesting but cost allot, am sure there worth it. http://www.amazon.com/Genius-Tools-Torque-Extension-2-Inch/dp/B000E9NJ28 if only i had good tool money funds

i have a torque wrench from harbor fright. 1/2" 20 to 150 ft. lbs
been ok so far, but i mainly use it use it on the wheels bolts. i can mange ball park 20-40 FT lbs

20 ft. lbs is snug and a about 1/4 a turn, tip via WJJeeps on 4.7 spark plug install
40 ft. lbs is sung and about 1/2 a turn

only problem with that is whos definition of snug? and snug with a 1/4 in drive is still loose when you throw on a 1/2 in drive 2ft breaker bar

like i said its ball park.

snug usually means on tight and cant move it with out using some strength.
its in there and not tight or loss.

lol break bar is more leverage, is a 1/4" wrench was 2 ft long am sure bolts heads will start snapping from to much torque.

not going to use that tip on a bolt that needs 80 ft. lbs, more for 1/4" and 3/8 wrenching jobs

we use those at walmart tire lube center each extension has a certain thickness on it the higher the torque rating the thicker the extension is, when it reaches its max torque something to do with the thickness of the extensions causes it to start rattling and it wont allow you to torque it any further, just makes an annoying rattling noise. Kind of hard to explain sorry haha

That is really cool about that torque wrench!

The 3/4 spacers are on the way!

Got a deal on a large power inverter (750 watts) Ideas to hard wire it and mount it somewhere... Going to browse around, i know i remember seeing stuff about this... Wonder if I can hook it up to my amp power wires! haha

edit: I bought this for 18.99 at sams club this

Yes, I read and I really liked that! I just dont have the same type of console up front!

I like the relay and switch idea for sure!

Ideas on wire size/fuse size/relay size for a 750 watt 1500 peak watt inverter... I plan on mounting under one of the rear seats and them running the AC line somewhere...

edit: bought this at Sam's Club for 20 bucks

You could use a heavy duty realy to switch power on and off. I asked my dad the other day about using a relay as power for continuous use and he said something about a 1975 ford starter relay, then i mentioned something about ordering a HD relay... so idk, i was thinking 8guage wire? might be to much, ha

but thats my .02

that is a good way to wire most things.

just before you go into this, i say look into if you really need the 750W power inverter. i picked one up after having my 200W inverter and i don't really need the 750W one. theirs a list on how many amps things use.

750W / 12V = 62.5A
-so you need at least a 63 amp fuse.
- deepening on how long the cable is your power cable is battery to invert or really to inverter its going o be 8 gauge to 4 gauge.
- also going to need a strong really not a basic 30 amp relay

I thought so too!

I am pretty sure i do not NEED that much power or will ever use that much... I am looking to power a laptop or an xbox... not a house.

I am not sure where I am going to mount... i.e. determining length/size of wire.

I know I can find an inline fuse that big... idk where I would get a relay that big... and the switch can just be a standard switch

A laptop uses about 150 watts of power. Idk about an xbox. But my step dad ran a ps2 and a 12 inch tv with an ancient 150w

Looking at the power brick... it said 203 watts... then a TV you probably figure 100-150... maybe

Did anyone look at the inverter I bought?

Mine is 800w peak (it can hold it for just under an hour) and 400w for forever. 400w is enough to run an Xbox and TV comfortably. While charging a phone and iPod.

Did you mention your final setup/parts list in your write-up? I think that I over read past it...
