A bad CPS would cause more of a no-start condition. I'd say coil rail is also a likely suspect.

True. I was thinking more of if the fuel sync when out. I don't know if that can even happen though on a whim like that.

Cars ran great for 100 years without synchronized/sequential fuel injection. Turns out it doesn't really matter, it just affects the top 5% of power and of course EMISSIONS.

I see what you're saying. I think the reason CPS popped into mind was when mine was out of sync (probably 30 off), it would start/run but ran so rich the cats turned red. Once I realized my mistake, I fixed it up and shazam, all was well! I then had it synced afterwards but you're right - it ran fine before having the dealer sync it. That being said, the only way the CPS could have turned causing it to run rich is if the hold down clamp worked loose. Even then, if for some reason that actually happened, both cats would turn red, not 1.

Still no word on the Rubicon...

However I have been putting my WJ in Full Time about once a week to keep things from seizing etc. I've noticed its easier to shift from 4hi back to 2wd. But man do I get a lot of nasty noises when accelerating. Lol

That doesn't make sense why it would make noise when 4 wheel drive is engaged since you front driveshaft is spinning all the time anyways since you don't have manual hubs.

Don't know man, just telling it how it is. That's why it has me confused as well.

Update on the Rubicon, coil rail failed, plugs fouled as a result. Also the cam position sensor failed. So new coils, new spark plugs, and a new cam position sensor. First ever "breakdown" in the Rubicon.

Maybe because the its under a load when in 4wd vs not.

Checked more on the electric fan. Found another thread where the e-fan on the 04's is controlled only by a hi and low relay in the PDC box. Jumped the fan and it kicked on. Wonder if both relays just blew, as unlikely as that sounds. Going to order some new relays tonight.

Also "fixed" the brakes, did a few very hard stops and heated them up big time and then let them cool. Made a noticeable difference in reducing the vibrations. Almost completely gone.
