Dude they look awesome. I opened them up and was like holy crap there is no way these are gonna fit haha. Does the Jam nut go on the frame side or axle side or does it not matter?

I've read somewhere it goes on the opposing end of the axle, due to keeping the jam nut further from the ground and getting into any contact with things.

Glad to see the ball rolling on this!

What? IRO doesn't make them to fit the WJ correctly? That's not cool, especially for a manufacturer who prides themselves on being more of a Cherokee/Grand Cherokee specialist.

Every few months I find out one more info that makes me like IRO a little bit less. A shame, really.

Wait, obvious sarcasm detected. I thought with the IRO arms, everyone had to add washers? Because these are "universal fit" I could be completely wrong? All I did was unwrap them, I have not put these near the Jeep yet. They could fit right in. I do not know yet. I was just assuming this because I have heard that statement float around?

Also if you mis-read from a previous post where I said, "Woah no way these are going to fit." I was simply saying that they just seemed huge out of the box.

No sarcasm, I actually thought they made WJ control arms. For WJs. Especially since they list them as a separate application from everything else.

yeah their WJ arms are different from their ZJ/XJ/TJ arms. I interpreted "universal fit" under their applications list as meaning they can be adapted to custom applications because they're straight arms without bends..? Also I'm pretty sure they won't need washers Michael I haven't heard of that with their control arms before. Not like my stock arms really fit in tightly at all, when I loosened the bolt the mounts fanned outwards and the arm dropped right out of the mount. I wouldn't get all up in arms (heh... heh get it?) about it unless things don't tighten down properly. when you have the stock arms off put the stock arm down and put bolt through it... mark how much of the bolt fits inside the bushing sleeve and then compare with the IRO one. If its the same you're fine. If not see how it fits and give IRO a call if things aren't right. Its really a shame Ironman keeps jacking their prices ($220 now for front lowers) because if they the same price as IRO they'd be solid competition. They were the same price at one point. Thing is though you're going to lose a little bit of ride comfort already by getting rid of the beefy oval bushings and I know thats where your priorities are at so its good you stuck with something rubber. That and IRO welds are sexy.

Richard - I see what you"re saying and have a valid point. Now with what Matt had said, the may fit right in there. I could be completely wrong about the washer thing. Only way to find out it to drop the arms and put the IRO ones in there. That MIGHT happen late today when I get back to school. (Actually doubt that, going to be busy. So maybe Friday.) My overall impression of the arms are very good. Built very well, huge rubber bushings. Stiff but I do not thing ride will be sacrificed all that much.

Trip Report

Miles - 280
MPG ~17.5 (I was getting on it)
Avg Speed 80 in the open.
Traffic - Heavy, Stop/Go

Made it back to school for the last few weeks. Jeep did overall fine, no major issues, no DW or anything like that. Tires still have there little bit of vibe... oh well. What I DID notice that was something that I put together was this situation. Hold the wheel steady, then letting off the gas makes the Jeep drift right, getting back on the gas makes the Jeep drift back left? Has got to be a-arm or rear lower CA related?! I took a back back road on the way back to school because traffic became unbearable. The road is nick named "the rollercoaster road" and that should sum it up. I was getting on it good between 40-60 mph and over bumps and turns and the suspension coils/shocks did a great job with handling the corners. No weird shimmy or any crap like that. What sucked was the rear end felt loose as can be haha.

I also brought back some more Jeep goodies other then the IRO CA's. I picked up a Cobra 29 LTD CB for free. CB antenna setup for free. An exhaust tip from Scott for free. A 12 Compressor for free. Pretty good week!

You will need washers unless you wanna bend your brackets to fit them snug ...I used washers for mine got em at lowes

That is so odd. I don't get why they would not make them to fit. I will take measurements when I pull the stock arms etc. Matt said that when he took out his stock arms the bracket "fanned out" So apparently the factory arms compress the bracket too? Not sure man.

Yeah you have to use washers for the front long arms to we're they attach to the axle but IRO supplies you with washers when you buy the LA kit
