I've seen much worse in terms of paint/photoshop. That looks really good though. The trick is finding a good looking silver paint, most of them look like crap. I'd go and get a spray can of Jeep "Bright Silver" and use that.

I got the idea the other day from this post here, then a few posts down he said that he had used the radiant silver metallic. I also looked on WJ Jeeps and the freedom rails are the same. I think a few coats of that should mask the black?

So finally got my little OBD II dongle to finally pair with my phone (stupid pass code was 6789... WTH, why you no be 1234). So after googling around I was finally able to get that code. Anyways, the point being is that the OBD II is reading the rpms to be ~650 and the gauge is reading ~550. So oddly the Overland Cluster is reading the RPMS about 100 lower then what the ECU is reporting. Which also confirms my suspicion of the gauge reading low at highway speed. Before the swap my stock cluster read 2000 rpms at 65 mph. While the new cluster reads 1900 rpms at 65 mph... dont know why it is doing this. Not a real big deal, but still odd.

Just a slightly-misplaced gauge needle. 100rpm is nothing to worry about. Or maybe you got a mystical 5th gear installed with the cluster. We'll never know for sure.

PS: haven't forgotten about the EVIC, just haven't been in the direction of the post office.

Perfect Opp to totally destroy iPhone. Lol. Anyways that cheapy adapter I had bought def has some quirks. But it still works eventually. I do remember you saying that the iPhone wouldn't pair, I forget why though. Something to do with iPhone's protocols? Im interested to see if your cluster is off too.

While that makes sense. IIRC the first Electro gauges did the same thing, were reading low. But its been awhile now since the initial swap. But like yoy said, it really is not a huge deal, was just curious. I wonder how close 4th and 5th gear had to be to lower the rpms by 100. Haha. Is it even worth trying to "fix"?

Thanks man, no rush. I wont be able to 'use' it until I get home in the beginning of May when I put the other rims on (with the TPMS). I am pretty sure the EVIC wont like it when there are no sensors.

No, you'll just make it worse if you try to fix it.

And it doesn't like it with no sensors, it just gives you two double-beeps every time you start the vehicle. Hence the reason I replaced it.

I thought so. Honestly id be to afraid to dig into the gauges. To me they seem like they would be very very fragile.

Does it only Beep when you first start? Or also when driving down the road constantly?

Oh that is not too bad, I guess if I fill my washer fluid back up, the TPMS beeps can take its place.

Talk about annoying beeps, the freaking LR3, Bimmer, and Benz are all obnoxious. The first 30 seconds of the video says it all:
