Yeah I have slight tap too. Its actually covered up now by a bad pulley somewhere, pretty sure its the tensioner. I should have known to replace that when I did the water pump in August. If/once I do decided to rebuild the diff Im just going to give it to my local off road shop. Ever since converting the front diff to a u-joint Ive been worried about it. A song came on the other day while driving that sounded like a high pitch wine that got louder and louder. Scared me half to death haha.

Tapping in the 4.7 isnt good. Lol. I tell you what though, my 4.0 sounds like a diesel engine when it is idling. I do not know if it good or bad but sure enough. Got a little tractor engine going on in there!

You think when you broke and torqued the new u-joint that could have messed it up somehow? Do you have quadra-drive?

No I have quadra-tec II. I know I did it right I'm just paranoid when it comes to stuff like that haha. Plus with the high miles I have on it and being away at college I'm paranoid something big will break haha.

Oh ok. Can you chirp tires when flooring it off the line??

How many miles are you at? Same here if something breaks at college I am kinda stuck but the guys in my off road club are very very handy and there is always a stealership close by.

Okay I am getting disappointed with my WJ. I am still timing 0-60 at around the middle 10's. Which is pretty crappy. I have been looking at some other 4.0 WJ's and they are getting middle 9's which is a whole second faster. Which I think is a good amount. Comparing my videos to others, it seems that my upper end of first gear is lagging where others are moving quicker.

I am about to rip out my exhaust and intake...

I timed this guy at around 8.1-8.2 seconds! Dayum!

You can't time a YouTube video... Honestly the rated 9.6 or so that the wj does is optimized no passengers or weight in willing to bet you have at least 300lbs of audio equipment which will do it alone also aren't ur tires slightly bigger than stock? Regardless they're ATs which oughta have slightly more rolling resistance than the all seasons these things get tested with

I have been using a stop watch to time the video. Letting them play and clicking start/stop on the app accordingly. But I agree you can not use the little bar and expect an accurate result from that.

The tires are 245/70/16 which is the size that came on it from the factory. But I have A/T's on it now which have a bit more meat on them.

Then audio, gas, and another person, then all my Jeep cleaning liquids probably aren't helping.

yeah, like the rated 9.5 or so you'll see on wjjeeps involves a light weight laredo without any extras and one normal weighted person and just enough gas to let it run. The engine is fresh and new and is making all of its rated power. no doubt after 100k miles your i6 isnt in its prime anymore. Then add a couple hundred pounds of your audio equipment and a couple hundred for two people and you could easily be seeing low to mid 10s.... jeesh I dont even want to know what mine is....

oh and that 8 second guy has somethin up with his video... he goes around to everyones i6 videos and flaunts his Jeep so I'm thinkin he's fishy. I also hear a weird whine at 3krpm... the intake should not be whining that soon but I'm not accusing it of being boosted or anything its Just something on that engine isnt stock

Maybe over the summer I will strip it out and put just enough gas in there and see how it does. Along with my upcoming mods for more power :P My goal is to get it into the High 8's

Yeah that is the truth, sadly she isn't as powerful or fuel efficient as she was new! My step-mom got 26 mpg out of it back in 2005 or 2006 coming home from a PA trip. It was just her and a bag or 2. Got great MPG. Now I am struggling to get 21-22 on the highway. Makes me sad to see her get old!!

So for all reasonableness. 2 people (220 + 170) and ~300 for audio (those voice coils are heavy and the box and amps) 1/2 tank of gas. A/T Tires. Then 100K miles. I guess mid 10's are not all that bad in reality. So that is 700 pounds over curb weight (I do not remember what all is included in curb weight, gas or no?)

lack of backpressure on the 4.0... will that cause an issue?
