When I put in the LED's in all the lights, console, overhead lights etc. The led's in the evic have always been dimly lit even after its been locked and even if the lights are switched off. So it was a "issue" ever since I made the switch to led's instead of the incandcent lights that came stock. There isn't enough resistance from what other people have said?

i like the led rock lights.

im gunna be doing this soon. waiting on more night pictures.

where did you mount them?

99 WJ hp44, 3 link, Eaton e locker, 14" foa coilovers in the front. 14 bolt, 4 link, grizzly locker, 12" foa coilovers in the rear. 5.38s and 37s

Leds will hold a certain amount of energy for a while until it runs out. Just something they seem to do from what I've seen? I could be wrong though

Sounds like the ECU isnt cutting power to the lights entirely, which wire did you tap? And do your LEDs in the overhead still put out a little bit of light even when the Jeep and everything else is off? The lights on my XJ were switched via ground but the WJ may be totally different. If you disable the interior lights using the dimmer switch on your steering collumn what happens?

I find this all pretty weird especially because the voltage going to those lights must be miniscule if anything but the relay really should only be operating if its getting a good 12v. If you flick the switch off and then back to interior lights will the rock lights come back on? If so then the voltage being leaked is enough to trigger your relay which would be of concern IMO

That would be true. If a realy is being triggered then it must be getting a good 12v of power. Unless you have a really odd ball relay.

I believe the WJ's interior lights are switched via ground also. At least i do believe they are.

Yeah even when the Jeep is off and everything is off, those two will stay lit. Actually they are on when the jeep is on too (dimly lit that is) they usually go off after about 20 minutes (after being locked) when all the power is drained out

I tapped the wire under the dash running directly to the bulb on the driver's side.

If I turn the dimmer switch all the way down, those two evic lights will still stay dimly lit (for about 20 min) while all the other lights will be completely off. It has been that way since the day I put all the LED's in. I think it also has to do something with the resistance of the LED's compared to the incandescent bulbs...

I can turn the interior lights off, via the dimmer switch all the way down. The two EVIC lights will still be on dimly. and it is still enough to keep the relay triggered for the rock lights...

It must be enough to keep the relay switched on...

Not sure, the relay is brand new. I don't know what is up. Or what to do? (please let me know if I am not explaining it all too)

You all remember how my idle in gear is not so hot? I took a look at the transmission mount on the cross member while I was under there. Let me explain my pokebal drawing. The black part is the metal part and the bolt hole. The red is the bushing and the white space is where there is no bushing.

They're all made like that. The issue is when they go bad and the upper portion starts to split apart. Next time mine goes bad, I plan to fab up a teraflex control arm bushing in it's place.

That's odd, you would think that they would have rubber all the way around?

I think I may have figured out what was rattling with the vibes, my drivers door panel clips were pretty much all broken. At least 7 of the 13 broken.

They had 3M sticky tape on the back of the strips. Just stuck them up there. (cleaned off the surface first). I am going to see how they are after a week or so and see if I need to do any additional mounting.

Finally aimed my headlights down some. The biggest PIA ever. There were two knobs. One for up and down and the other for left and right. I did not know that and made it harder until i figured it out.

Lol I think the wj one are pretty good once you figure it out, ones on my old ZJ were crap and just snapped the second I turned them... Then the headlight fell out lol zjs
