Slappy's Build thread.
Finally ready to start lifting my '98 GC 5.9 Ltd.
Got a 7" critical path long arm kit from Iron Rock Offroad. Im not super mechanical, and have ZERO experience with lift kits. My buddy Lee has installed several lift kits, on several types of vehicles. This is his first Jeep however. So far we have had a bit of confusion with how a few things go together...IRO's kit doesnt come with super detailed instructions...a few pictures would have been nice  But I think we are getting it together. Had to make a run to Canadian Tire tonight for a few extras...such as taller jack stands I always spend too much money when I go there  Lets start with boxes of "things"    Gratuitous "Before" pictures!

Looking at instructions and getting ready to prep parts.
 My buddy Lee installing bushings.  My son beside my Jeep.  2.5" from the axcle housing to the bump stops.  Lee working at removing "old stuff"  |

Oh yes...there arent many tools he doesnt already have
I like friends like that! BTW, he has a '93ZJ with a 4.5" BDS lift and 31's. |

Old cross member and the new.
 Old front driveshaft.  Transfer case is supported, ready to install the new cross member.

Bolting in the new cross member
 Lee wanted to add an extra piece of flat steel above the unibody to help strengthen the bolt surface.  Needin' a short break!  New springs installed.  Installing the trackbar.

 Most of the front end is installed. Just adjustment, and shocks to be installed.  Lee foolin around!  Getting the rear end all together.  Pretty much done...just got bolts to tighten, then adjustment, and need dropped pitman.  My Jeep and Lee's Jeep side by side. He has a BDS 4.5" lift, and 31" tires.

now what you need is to get a nice set of tires and wheels and go flex that thing out but only after flexing out on your stockers

Tires are Mickey Thompson BAJA MTZ LT305/70/R16, and the rims are Eagle Alloy Series 185's
