Looks cool! I was actually down in Lethbridge last night picking up some stuff for my buddy who got in a hit and run. We were down by Fairmont.

Looks good man! Can't wait to see the wheel/tire combo. What are you other plans for it? Engine work? Bumpers?

Sorry, I am not sure what that means?

Anyway...the lift kit is 100% installed, everything should be lined up properly and ready for wheel alignment once I get the new rims n skins!

BUT.....I also ordered new front axles as my old ones have bad CV boots and are getting a bit tired. New axles are spicer U-joint style

Pulled out the axles no problem, had a bit of trouble getting the carrier out of the diff housing, and removed the old oil seals....

ummmm....sigh....this diff has been rebuilt before and as near as we can figure whoever installed the carrier hit the right side bearing race with a hammer and damaged it.

This is what we found:

Both sides of the race are the same on opposite sides.

Crap! I really didnt wanna fork out a bunch of cash for new bearings already!! AGGGHH!!!

And finally my very last complaint with the supposedly 100% bolt on lift kit...there is no &%$&** way that the factory drag link will work on my Jeep! We removed it and added a 5 degree bend and it still binds up.

The steering binds on the left side axle housing, the right side sway bar bracket, on the steering stabilizer, and the track bar.....PLUS there is not enough thread left on the adjusters to properly align this setup!

Gonna have to call IRO tomorrow and get an upgraded steering kit...they better give me a really good deal

This thing will be slick. Hell, it already is! It always costs more than you think, if you go in with that you will be fine. IRO is the best you will find. Good people.

Oh, I forgot to add that we have affectionately dubbed my Jeep "Da Sponge" both for the fact it seems to sponge up all my money, and because of its ride performance without shocks or Sway bars

It's not so bad. I did the F2R lift in my garage by myself with just hand tools, so just do it yourself!!

gcotm = grand cherokee of the month. your best bet is to enter for December when you have everything put back together again. i'd totally vote for a monster 5.9!

Wow...lovely...wow...lovely...wow

UnREAL!

Got the new bearings for the front Diff, isntalled em and got the carrier and all that in no problem. Grabbed the right side BRAND NEW spicer axle with U joints instead of CV joints, and lo and behold the U joint was installed incorrectly. 2 of the C clips were loose, and one of the oil seals was damaged beyond repair. Sigh.

The left side shaft was also installed incorrectly, one of the C clips was sprung. SO took a C clip off the old U joint, and put that one together properly. But now I need a new U joint for the right side. Yikes.
