Scibbyz's 1999 WJ Build

I think its about time I created a build thread.

Ive been here since June of '10 and have been too lazy to start it so its catch-up time

I started off with a bone stock 122k mile 99 Laredo i-6
225/70/16 bald michelin ltx
electric fan would not come on. overheated it to 250* a week after i got it (how i found out fan didnt work)

1st mod
thrush super turbo muffler.

2nd
custom cold air intake. (OH-EM-GEE) it was that ghetto

3rd
Exonic EXD4500T radio 4.3" touch screen DVD/MP3/USB w/3.5mm aux jack

4th
245/70/16 Yokohama Geolander A/T-S worst tire I have ever purchased. bald in 12k miles. crap in sand, snow, mud, rain, and maybe even dirt.

Brush Guard w/ 40w blazer lights

5th
2" BB from fat bobs garage, rancho rs5000 shocks and 265/70/16 American Prospector A/T

6th
a whole slew of electrical issues with fix after fix. not really mods, but still.

7th
BOOM @ 147k
http://www.jeepforum.com/forum/f310/...build-1048196/

cracked water jacket, leads to cracked piston. leads to a DIY fix.
sounded to my very inexperienced ear like noise was coming from cylinder head. $600 on a new head, 3 days and basically just a head gasket change later.

BIGGER BOOM #6 piston shatters on startup, tick has now become rod knock.
later found smaller than quarter sized pieces of piston in oil pan.

8th
STROKER BUILD
with the help of an experienced mechanic we rebuilt my engine using a 99mm throw crank out of a 4.2L i6 and the connecting rods.

4.5L stroker. lots more power than stock. sucked big time on gas. until i changed the fuel filter!!

removed the 2" spacers in favor of a BDS 2" coil lift.

rides better, drives better, looks better. and actually got me 2" of lift

hub to fender
19.75" front 20" rear

I do not have a very good before and after comparison. so it may be hard to tell

Man i dont know what's up with those geolanders going bald at 12k miles, did you keep track of air pressures? I had these on my full size 4x4 z-71 silverado and put a good 30k on them and they still looked really good with lot's of tread left and they worked really good in snow and rainy conditions,i never had them in mud but then again it's not a mud tire to begin with,i was real happy with my geolanders,i dont know of any tire going bald at only 12k,even boggers last longer then that.

they were kept between 35-40 psi. max psi was around 44. rotated regularly.

now just to be sure did you have the a/t-s or the a/ts? there is a big difference

3/4"s spacers, 4.11s. wheel spacers. hmm. either a custom bumper/tire carrier or build my own swing out hitch mounted tire carrier.

hey. i have those same exact headlights. any chance would you be able to tell me how you installed them. i wanna know how to hook up the leds and stuff. they came with no instructions and i cant seem to figure out how to wire everything up. also i see it has three holes that have stickers over them saying remove. im guessing one is foe the turn signal and what are the others. these headlights are pretty confusinf for me. if you could give me an installyion guide i would really appreciate it. thanks

Scibby I have much to learn from you. If I dont eventually trade up to a 4.7 I would like to learn about stroking my 4.0. I'm going to be your biggest annoyance you gotta school me on this stuff . My engine hopefully won't be damaged when I do the rebuild which should make it easier

Scibbyz, what about the custom left front fender push in for better MPG? Oh wait you fixed that! 4.11 aren't going to help your already horrible gas mileage. Just a thought? When are we going wheelin again?
