IF I end up doing the swap... seeing as my long arms were welded on, could I cut the brackets and other components off to reuse? The frame rails I would probably replace since they are only about $60 (and would require the most clean up) but everything else would add up fast and would rather not replace them if I don't have to. I don't know much about welding but I'm guessing I'll have to buy new ones?
Yes, you can do this. Just cut the welds and around the brackets (possibly even just cut a hole in the unibody to remove the bracket), grind the extra material off to clean them up, and weld them onto the new Jeep
if i still had the plasma cutter still(and i can go get it anytime i want)it would take about 20 minutes to have all the brackets off and after a little grinder love they'd be reuseable...even the frame stiffeners...you'd just have to get it back down here.....and yes i'm still cyber stalking you. figured there'd be a post to show the damage better the the pic you sent me
Swap pictures and walk through coming soon. Almost done. I really hope with what I contribute it will help someone because there isn't enough resources for this stuff. This was a PITA but I have learned (still am) A LOT
