rocker arm noise

I have a 2000 grand cherokee laredo 4.0 that I just replaced the cylinder head on. (cracked) It actually went smoother than I thought, but I made one mistake. When re-installing the push rods and rockers I did not bring it to TDC-it now is making ticking noises that it did not do before I changed the head. Should I take it apart and re-install push rods at TDC, and could it have caused any damage?
