Rmtomasin build thread- Project Jeep Grand Heep

Got my jeep feb. 2007, it was my first vehicle and i wasn't involved with froadiing yet at all i just happened to get a 4wd jeep.
http://i267.photobucket.com/albums/i...eep/Stock1.jpg

i worked at a toyota dealership with one of my friends who had a 4runner and lifted it and wheeled
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v2...CIMG0618-1.jpg

i started doin some stock wheelin and about a year later in dec. 07 i lifted her in my garage
http://i267.photobucket.com/albums/i...p/P1170040.jpg

this was sometime in jan. a morning after i had gotten stuck all night up to my doors for about 4 hours and none of my friends could get me out so i had to wait on a chevy with 6" lift and 35" to come yank me. I flooded my tranny and put the heep out of commission for a while, my pocket has still not fully healed a year later

i've done a few mods since then

i put a kevins offroad rad support in
http://i267.photobucket.com/albums/i...k/P1140013.jpg

put in a cb radio
http://i267.photobucket.com/albums/i...o/DSC03755.jpg
http://i267.photobucket.com/albums/i...o/DSC03778.jpg

i wheeled it all of 08

http://i267.photobucket.com/albums/i...p/SSPX0477.jpg
http://i267.photobucket.com/albums/i...p/SSPX0478.jpg

then same time in dec 08 as in dec 07 i sunk my heep again an now have many problems such as stalling and misfiring and another tranny problems. Hopefully these will be fixed soon so i can continue with my build.

i know the cb sucks i'm fixing that and reconsidering a new antena mount location. What do you guys think i should do with the cb and antena, i'm think about getting a rack so i could mount it up there.

it was a good fun night and a brand new trail we found some road that just turned into creek crossings and plenty of stuff, was some good motivation to get my heep back up and running.

ScottHarr_TJ 02-15-2009 11:22 AM

Dude last night was a blast! cant wait til' your heep gets back up and running so we can ride some trails. get your lady back up and runnin teezy! Oh and i got my codes pulled and I had a misfire last night.

rmtomasin 02-17-2009 01:35 AM

I noticed that on of the TJs had a "Southern Offroad Specialist" sticker on the windshield. My brother bought a black YJ in Birmingham with a southern offroad specialists sticker. Is that a local shop or group or something?

BLACKzj52 02-18-2009 08:42 AM

lookin good. how do u like the iro 3.5" springs? iv heard theyr decent but how do they ride?

also do u have any more pics of the way u mounted ur antenna (specifically with the taillight taken off)? that is exactly the same way i want to do mine.

Yes sir. Its our local 4x4 shop around here. I bought my wheels there and they hooked me up with amd amounts of stickers. so i threw it on. my dad hates it, he says it false advertising since they didnt do any of the work. haha
