The 'crumple zone' of the Jeep is most likely designed to do exactly what it did and bend downward. I was rear ended on tuesday by an F150, so I have a crumpled hatch and rear bumper, but my rear door gaps don't line up and there is a stress crack in the c-pillar paint.
