Hold on to those 5100s once they are off. I might need them for the CJ.

And you need air bumpstops at this point.

And the 5100s will heat up and fade.. Ask me how I know!

Won't be able to make (afford) a trip this year if it happens.

I thought the 5100's were supposed to be pretty good about not doing that. But then they're the low-end option of a high end shock, I suppose. They're still light years better than what most Jeepers run with. They lift and then go cheap on the shocks.

I don't think most guys with Jeeps wheel Baja style so it's not a big issue. I've had no issues myself with rough dirt/rock roads at normal cruising speeds, 20-30mph. Then I wheel mostly in Colorado so you don't go much faster than that on the back roads, even if they're not really trails. I guess it depends on the type of wheeling you do.

Yes, it snows in Texas.

Don't get us wrong we love 5100s but when your flying thru the desert for hours they overheat and start fading the only reason I'm getting rid of mine is bc I found a killer deal on the 7100s

As I said, Baja is rarely the style of a Jeeper. I guess that's why they make the 7100's though, to cater to everyone's need.

Yes, it snows in Texas.

The 5100s are good shocks don't get me wrong. Rockcrawling they feel nice and controlled, they ride good on the street, and for the first couple hours of desert running they feel great. I just need a resivore shock
