Hate seeing this type thing happen. He was very knowledgeable about what he was doing. I liked that he brought a Pirate4x4-type wit/sarcasm/knowledge to JF which was always nice to see. Thoughts go out to his family and friends.
I would definitely chip in to a fund to help continue the build or help his family. Keeping his build alive is a must.
1998 JGC 5.9L., Deep Slate, Vortech supercharged, Holley 52mm TB, Ported M1 intake, 3” full exhaust, 39# injectors,PCM is tuned with SCT , Fully ported 2.02 R/T heads, Mike Leach headers, Custom cam (214 Intake 218 Exhaust 114 lobe center .520 lift), Crane Fireball ignition, Custom full return fuel system with 255LPH Walbro fuel pump and much more
I've been following his build for a while now. It helped me in my decision of what I wanted as a first vehicle. I liked looking through the forums and reading stuff about ZJs even before I had bought one. I've made some pretty ridiculous posts on stupid questions I had and such, and there were many in which he had posted in, helping me out. Couple years after buying my ZJ, I've learned a lot of stuff, as I've been doing new things with my Jeep. Tyler contributed to this interest I have now, which is sort of now a hobby like many of you others have taken on. I think it's awesome you want to continue the build, Mike. There isn't any better way to pay respect than finishing a mans Jeep.
reading all your kind words has really lifted my spirits. i am also floored of all the ideas and support for finishing his rig. stickers would be a cool idea. i know someone locally that does t-shirts as well.
i am in tears thinking of how loved he has been by people that have never met him. this forum means a whole lot more to me because of all of your support and concern.
if you can wait on the stickers until next week it would be great. i will get a facebook page or something up with links for donations, sticker, and shirt purchases. if anyone here is, or knows a web page designer could you get me in touch with them. a professional page would be a nice custom way to get all this in one place. also i can upload pictures and video for all of you to enjoy.
the viewing is today and funeral services are tomorrow here in our hometown of emporium, pa. i will be sure to have pictures taken for all of you to see.
thanks again to all of you for being so supportive during this hard time. it may be a little selfish of me, but reading the last few pages of this thread over and over has really helped put a smile on my face.
Ratmonkey donation page. all proceeds will go to his family.
it's not much to look at... but it's mine.
