i will be with his family for pretty much the rest of the week. i am going to talk to his mother about continuing the work he almost finished on his ZJ. i am sure she wouldn't have it any other way, i know i would want him to do the same with my yj if something had happened to me.

thank you all for your words. it means a lot to me and i will certainly pass all your sentiments on to his family.

i was in the process of buying his 408 stroker from him for my jeep. if i can i will be putting it into his rig. i was planning on doing a full resto on my dads '46 cj2a. i think this would be a much more fulfilling project for me in the end.

RIP. Thoughts go out to the family and friends.

Always enjoyed reading what he had to say and found his advice to be very helpful.

Hey Mike, that would be amazing if you continued with his build. I personally didn't know him, but he seemed like a very amazing person that really deserves it. I'm sure i'm not the only one who would love to see his work completed.

RIP Ratmonkey. You've helped me get my baby running right. Any chance there will be an address for donations?

i never thought of asking for donations. maybe i'll setup a paypal in his name. all the cash will be given to help his family settling his affairs. we may also pass the hat at my families yearly fireworks celebration. i can't think of a single year in the last 20 that tyler (ratmonkey) hasn't been to.

give me until after this week to start getting anything like that setup.

x2 for the donations. I'd be more than willing to help in any way I could. It's still sickening the thought of losing such a great man

I'd love to donate to help the family. Maybe get some shirts made in memory of Tyler. And the proceeds go to his family or to help mike finish his zj?

I was coming in here to close this thread with a RIP message after losing such a good man and valuable resource. But after seeing the heartfelt messages left above, we'll leave the thread open for a while longer to give time to everyone who wants to pay Ratmonkey their respects & pass along your prayers & thoughts over this tragic loss.

RIP Ratmonkey, you are missed by a lot of people. Our prayers & thoughts are with your family and with you in spirit.

i would appreciate it very much if you left the thread open indefinitely. i plan on continuing his zj and would very much like to keep it all here. i just took a short ride with his uncle to discuss this. he was all about the idea of letting me finish the jeep and make it a rolling memorial to tyler.

i know it sounds a little weird, but this thread means alot to me. please do not close it.

I am just one of the moderators but with a little thought, I see no reason this thread has to be closed.

No more than I hae read, I know what a cherished individual this was and I went through a similar situation with two members on another forum. There were custom decals made of their trucks monogrammed and donations set up for the families. Even had several of the forum members lead the prosession with their trucks.

It's never easy losing someone and my thoughts and prayers are with all affected by this loss.

I don't know either Tyler or Mike but Mike, I'm sure you'll do things right.

Man I was just talking to him, he helped me a lot when I had my zj and saved me money on those projector headlights. Maybe I can put some funds he saved me on those towards finishing his jeep lol (sorry, lightening the mood).

R.I.P. man
